For God to be God, he has to be superlative, ie the best at everything. Is he wasn't people would worship someone different. God is all-powerful, and yet he does not stop suffering on Earth? Does this mean he is all-powerful, but not all-loving as he does not stop disasters, or does this mean that he is all-loving, but without the power to help us?

This is a serious question.

What is the Biblical position of the following question...

Since God the Father sent His Son Jesus to die for the sins of mankind did He (the Father) commit murder or, at the very least, infantcide.

Alternatively, did Jesus commit suicide by willingly sacrificing Himself for mankind?

I appreciate all sincere answers to these questions.

Assalamu alaykom-peace be on u all :) .... i wish to open a civilized discussion with those who are anti hijab-head scarf,i welcome any civilized tolerant discussions even if they are against my point of view coz in Islam, one should respect other people's point of view, and i am sorry i reject any violation or offense towards my religion or my point of view...my brothers and sisters in humanity rememeber, the person's choice of words and his/her way reveals his real character...thank u all, bless u

Kindly,take a look at this poem :)

When you look at me
All you can see
Is the scarf that covers my hair
Because you're too full of fear
Mouth gaping, all you do is stare

You think it's not my choice
In your own ''liberation'' rejoice
You think I'm uneducated and subjugated
You're so thankful that you're free

But non-Muslim women you got it wrong
You're the weak and I'm the strong
For I've rejected the trap of man
Fancy clothes, low neck, short skirt
Those of the devices for pain and hurt
I'm not falling for that little plan

I'm a person with ideas and thought
I'm not for sale, I can't be bought
I'm me not a fancy toy
I will not decorate anyone's arm
Nor be promoted for my charm
here is more to be than playing coy

Living life as a balancing game- mother,
Daughter, wife, nurse, cook, lover
And still bring home a wage

Who thought up this modern ''freedom''?
When man can love'em and leave'em
Always jumping to a male agenda
Competing on his terms

Non-Muslim women you have your life
Mine - it has less strive
I cover and got respected
Surely that's to be expected
For I wont leave male criterion
I dance to my own tune
And I hope you see this very soon
For your own sake, wake up and use your sight
ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE RIGHT???

For all the people who don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent, but you can eat fish....... how is fish not a meat? I don't like seafood, but fish looks like a meat to me.

And don't go slamming me for asking; because i am a Christian; just never understood the fish and Lent thing.

Culturally, I am an American. Ethnically, I am not anglo (which Texans seem to consider me) as that is a tribe that belonged to a group my people fought against. Racially, I am Caucasion, but since DNA is in all people today pretty much mixed between the races, that's irrelevant. Do people really have to judge by skin color? Then, why don't we all say we are various shades of brown? Only albinos are truly white. I am a very light shade of brown. There are African-Americans who are lighter skinned than I and who are farther descended from Africa than I from Euroasia, plus my people are first generation American).

Hello, I am learning spanish at an intense speed and my speaking skills are coming along fine however, my ability to understand a native spanish speaker when he/she is speaking requires much improvement.

Does anyone have any tips on how to best develop this skill, I realise it will come in time but I need to learn fast.

I have started watching my movies in Spanish rather than English, of course I can only make out the odd word because it just sounds like they are talking very fast, do you think this is a good idea?

Jesus, Moses, prophets, rebes, sages have all had some form of psychic abilities. Yet many churches are so quick to suggest that people who claim to have psychic abilities probably don't have the abilities at all. I can tell you that I have psychic abilites... I do not consider myself to be pagan. I am very religious. I can see colours in people's eyes, spirits protruding slightly out of people's bodies, and I even saw five points like distant stars in a man's eyes that looked like an upside down shield of David. I can even usually feel whether people are good, evil, and whether they are possessed.... I can see a small coating in people's eyes. I have consulted with the Roman Catholic church about all of this. I know that there are young men, women, and children being forced into prostitution. I can not seem to get the church or local police to do anything. The police keep conveniently losing my reports. I have no idea if the church has done anything at all about it.

I have just started working at a new place in town. All of the staff is new and we all started working at the same time. They all know each other from church and school, so right away i am out of the loop. the problem is they are all mondo mega christians. I am agnostic, with some spritual (as in magic, ghosts) beliefs. So far i have been able to stay away from the topic or religion, but the other day one of my co workers was telling us (i don't know why) about when her son declaired he was an athiest, (then she started to cry) but how now he goes to church and is back with the lord. then they went on about forcing children to go to church because if u plant a seed, (at this point i politley excused myself). I am fine with what they want to believe in, thats their thing. But i now that soon some one is going to ask me about what church i go to. when i say i don't go then they try to get me to go to their church....and it goes on.

I do, because I very much believe in the existence of a Creator (several of them, actually), just not in the Christian way. I also think "unbeliever" is a way to dehumanize non-Christians and create divisions.

Then again, I grew up hearing it used as sort of an insult, or at least in negative tones, and sometimes there needs to be a way to say "those who don't share our beliefs." Wiccans say "cowan", for instance.

I guess the real question is, am I right to get a little twinge at the word "unbeliever", or am I just too touchy? :-)

That would be no. God still remains faithful and He will always be, until the end of time. This fall of a Christian evangelical does not change morality either. Also God's Word still remains true - we don't follow men - we follow Christ. Christ is the head of the church - not Ted Haggard. Comments?
