Well if you live alone I would suggest getting some room mates if you haven't already. You might need to move back in with your parents if you can. If you smoke please stop because this is a waste of money. Is the car really worth spending that much money on? Maybe you could sell it and use public transportation if it's available. You could try going to school part time and try and work extra hours at work.

Something has got to break in your life right now. You put a DOLLAR stamp on anything??? What were you thinking? Didn't you read the warning about putting incorrect postage on anything? Now some fool Homeland Security nut is probably filed your bills in a stack for future investigation - for whenever they can manage finishing arguing about who gets to do it... Right after they enjoy a few more parties at taxpayer expense, of course!
First suggestion: ditch the car. Sell it! Get rid of all car debt ASAP and if that means selling it to pay off the debt, then do it! Cars are money pits and a college student CANNOT affort it unless mommy and daddy are footing all the bills! If you are like I was and a COLLEGE student and not a CODDLED student, then that sort of expense is obscene!
Two jobs: where are they? If they are not contributing to your success, then they are getting in the way. If that's why you need the car, then look at the bottom line. Needing that car to get to work is possibly sucking up more time and money than it's worth! Would you be better off without the car and the expensive job? For example, if you're driving an hour one way to a 4 hour shift at Burger King, this is probably not a good idea.
Room mates sounds like a good idea, but then some room mates are also a greater liability than an asset! Watch out for the freeloader type! Watch out for the abusive roomie. Watch out for the drunken git!
Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you. There isn't much sympathy left in this world. Good luck!
Ps. Yes, your life sucks and I know because I've been there. Keep faith though that your life WILL get better. Right now though, the school of hard knocks is teaching you lessons in money and time management. Keep notes and don't forget the lessons!

I been in similar situations. It really does suck. There really is no easy solution. I don't know if you are religious, but I asked God for help. He may work in mysterious ways. Also, try to handle one thing at a time. Relax and try to find solutions. Deliver the rent personally if possible. As for the car, do you have enough credit that you can charge it? Can a family member help you out and you can pay them back? zJust curious, is it for repairs? From having many financial problems myself, I know utility companies can be very lenient, as long as you are not excessively past due. Call them and perhaps ask for an extension, to be put on a budget plan, or make payment arrangements? Although you don't see it now, this will make you a stronger person. Stay in school for a chance for a good future. Don't let school fall by the way side because of all of these problems. Good luck and God bless.

Well to start with - your in college - and you've got a $2500.00 car payment due - why a brand new car? (that's one of your problems right there). If it's the problem with the Post Office - go down there IN PERSON and complain. That should help. But, why should it be the Post office's fault if your rent is overdue?? Your rent is overdue because you didn't pay it on time or didn't pay it at all. You need to manage your money better - don't shop for new clothes, go to thrift shops - they have nice stuff there- there's all kinds of stuff you can do to help balance your budget. I feel for you though because I've been overwhelmed with bills before - but got them taken care of by going without (I'm not talking about food) but clothes, movies, etc. Just try to tone down your buying and sell that expensive $2500 a month car payment (if that's what it is) and get yourself a good used car and things will be much easier on you. I'll pray for you that things get better - I know your trying - I can sense it in your e-mail.

Number one, is to contact everyone and tell them the situation you are in. There are a lot of people in your shoes today and the main thing is to keep in contact with creditors. If you get on the wrong side of them it can be a long hard road.
Number two, ask yourself what behavior, credit card overspending, or what, has gotten you into trouble. Then you have to make changes in your way of doing things. If you don't change anything and expect someting to get better, that is the definition of insanity. In most cases it is a mindset that has gotten people into trouble. Stinkling thinking is always going to manifest into stinking lifestyle.
Number three, I would personally turn it over to God and then do what ever He tells me to get out of the mess. It is overwhelming because of looking at the picture all at once. Just take one day, and one step at a time, and be honest with yourself and others and you will get through it.
You can only do what you can do and that is reality. There is no debtors prison anymore and they can't eat you. Just make an effort to increase your income and decrease your spending.
I have faith in you because you have reached out with your problem. Now it is time to forget the problem and focus on the solution. If the bill collectors call just put them on hold, unless it is the cell phone company. Just kidding of course.
Number four, go to a place that feed the homeless and volunteer for a day and see how much better you feel. There are always people that are worse off then you and when you help others, somebody is going to help you. It works everytime.
The Rev.

For starters get yourself on a tight budget. Pay your rent in person if possible. I don't know what to do about your car. I have never made car payments. I just buy used and pay in full. Then it's mine. Not owing on a car can also lower your insurance. Call the utility company and ask to be put on a payment plan. They may have several options. Apply for leap.(low income energy assistance program. (You can usually ride out a utility bill for a couple weeks or longer.) On other bills as long as you pay something they can't do much but report you as paying slow (bad for credit score-easy on pocketbook)
Good Luck
Saw your update- yes you can. Be sure all paperwork is transfered to new owner. Have them give you some $ and take over payments.
Oh, I drive a '71 Dodge. You can fix it yourself and the parts are cheap.

Time to contact the rest of your family. Hopefully they can temporarily help you out with a loan or two. Contact the landlord and tell him you know the rent is due but you are having trouble with the post office - can you just bring a check over. Possibly take less courses as well - take 12 credits (still full-time) rather than 15 or 16. That makes a big difference time-wise.

first of all your life is not that bad i think you are trying to hard to have what you can not afford working to jobs and school there is alot of good advice here but you have to follow it humble yourself even if you have to rent a smaller place and maybe you can get someone to take over the payments on your car you would lose what ever you have in to it but by having someone take over the payments and putting it in there name it would save your credit where you qwouldn't have a repo on your credit report and with that 2500 dollars you could find a good used car that would be paid for or try riding a bus for awhile and use this money to catch up on things i volunteer at the city of refuge here once a month and i have seen a lot of people who have no home no job and they can not find a Job because they have no address or phone number to put on a aplication we have a church service for them to feed there spirits we feed them breakfast and give them a sack lunch to take with them this is also a day labor place were these people might be able to get some type of odd job for the day. be thankful for what you do have for you are really blessed you have two jobs were a lot of people have none you are in school learning there are a lot of people who can not even read you have a place to live theres a lot of people living under bridges and in dumpsters and card board boxes i know you feel over whelmed but its not as bad as it seems don't let the money control you learn to control your money and i will pray for you to. and God Bless you and have faith things will get better.
