Our skin is far from paper especially if we are of Greek or other meditteranean descent. We should call ourselves caucasians instead

Should I instead opt for a "civil union?" My husband is my soul mate, and I love him more than anyhting else. I don't ever want to let him go. But, since I am not religious, should we get a divorce and get a "civil union" instead? I have seen more religious people that are homosexual denied marriage, yet I, a non-religious heterosexual, am allowed it. It isn't fair. So, what is marriage truly? What is it for me, since religion doesn't really play a part in my marriage? How would a civil union be different?

And please, if you're going to answer me, don't try to convert me. I've heard it all, and my beliefs are what feel right in my soul. I am a good person and I have no problem with you as long as you're a good person too.

I'm putting this question in Society and Culture so that more of the religious people will see it. I honestly want their perspective.

In the name of ALLAH, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaihi Wa-aalay wa sallam) said:
When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased. When after the burial, the people return home, 2 angels, Munkar and Nakeer(names of two special Angels), come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to interrogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says, "He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not leave him alone in any case.
If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise".
Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, "I am the Qur'aan,
which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low
voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Naker, you
will have no grief. When the interrogation is over, the handsome man
arranges for him from Al-Mala'ul A'laa (the angels in Heaven) a silk
bedding filled with musk.
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaihi Wa-aalay wa sallam) said:
"On the Day of Judgement, before Allah, no other intercessor will have a
greater status than the Qura'an, neither a Prophet nor an angel."
Please keep forwarding this "Hadith" to all ....because Rasulullah
(Sallallaahu alaihi Wa-aalay wa sallam) said:
"Pass on knowledge from me even if it is only one verse".
May Allah bestow this favour on all of us.
AMEEN AMEEN

that i need to thank god for all the good (blessings) in my life.
if thats true and if god created everything then does that mean he gets the blame for all the bad as well? it is only logical that if he gets credit for the good then he must take responsibilty for the bad.

2:6 and 2:7: As for those who disbelieve, it is the same for them; whether you warn them, or not warn them, they cannot believe. God seals their minds and their hearing, and their eyes are veiled. They have incurred severe retribution.

Or do I interpret something wrong?

Please be relevant when answer. I'm not interested in terrorism or paedophilia now.

To all of you out there, hello. My question is simple and to the point.
Who is more intollerant? Blacks or Whites (or neither)? You will each hold your own opinions in this matter and I look foreward to viewing each and every one of them.
(Personally my answer is neither; each group has bigotts. Its a fact of life!)

Me and my husband want to take our 6 month old trick-or-treating this Halloween, just for fun, to dress him up. If we knocked on your door with a baby in a stroller and a candy bag would you give us candy? Even though you knew the parents are getting the candy, not the baby?

I love coming to this forum. Mostly I like asking questions, instead of answering, because I truly want to know anothers insight so that it may heighten mine. This is the only way I think we can expand our horizons, through each other. My opinion is only my opinion, and means nothing unless the person who listens to my opinion finds meaning in it.
Have you asked yourself why you are here?
Is it to state your opinion, and connect with others, or are you looking for something, and dont even know it? I myself am here because I have taken so much time to understand my own faith, and in doing so I had to push away the faith of others. Now I want to know how others believe, and feel the passionate words of their beliefs. Tell me why do you think you are here?

I'm a straight girl and I've fallen in love (for the first time) with my best friend- a bisexual guy. He's recently fallen for a guy who has been in a relationship with his boyfriend for years. This guy treats my chap really badly and uses him, playing upon his feelings. It infuriates me because my friend is such a kind, decent chap- I hate seeing him used. Three months ago I plucked up courage to tell my friend that I had fallen completely in love with him. He politely turned me down, saying despite the fact he is single, he is "in a relationship in his head". He once told me that, had he not been a bit in love with someone when he first met me, I'd be just the sort of person he would want to go out with. He has also told me he is trying to get over this guy. So, what I want to know is, should I wait for him to get over this guy? Do you think he would look my way anyway? Or am I just kidding myself and living in a fantasy world?
