I love coming to this forum. Mostly I like asking questions, instead of answering, because I truly want to know anothers insight so that it may heighten mine. This is the only way I think we can expand our horizons, through each other. My opinion is only my opinion, and means nothing unless the person who listens to my opinion finds meaning in it.
Have you asked yourself why you are here?
Is it to state your opinion, and connect with others, or are you looking for something, and dont even know it? I myself am here because I have taken so much time to understand my own faith, and in doing so I had to push away the faith of others. Now I want to know how others believe, and feel the passionate words of their beliefs. Tell me why do you think you are here?

Louis thank you for answering I appreciate your honesty, and I am sorry if you feel I am being arrogant. I must say when I first read your words they stuck a chord in me.
So then I asked myself are you being arrogant? No I am not. I did though get very frustrated with the questions that tend to show disrespect of others beliefs, when it seems they are all fighting for the same thing. I have no religious faith, and the reason stands as being I dont want one, but all. So I like to hear all. I apologize to you if my wording seemed arrogant to you.
That was not my intention. I know what is in my head, and my heart. Sometimes I dont know how to convey that for others to understand, that is my shortcoming, and thank you for reminding me so that I may work on it. I wish you well

I am here because to connect to human reality, one cannot ignore the impact religion and spirituality play. I am a nihilist, a satanist, an atheist, and a chaos mage. I do not believe in gods, magic, free will, eternal life, after life, supernatural. I believe that all that is observed has a rational, logical explanation, that all human action is perfectly logical and computational if only you could get the full state matrix and perceptive inputs. And yet, I've had a near-death experience and multiple out-of-body experiences that have been no less meaningful and spiritually overwhelming than was my faith in Jesus of Nazareth before faith and I went our separate ways.
I come because I stand upon the precipice of truth and see that there is a nothing in the darkness, and the only safety net is to realize that there is no safety net.
I come because truth and deception abound here; no other forum is as oriented towards discovering the truth, and no other forum is as packed with those trying desperately to deny the truth to hold to quaint little lies for fear that an extrinsically meaningless life cannot be intrinsically meaningful and that all is for naught if there is not some great balancer.
I come because this is the place where truth can be found, and truth is at greatest peril.
I come because I am nothing. I come because I am everything.
I come.
What else needs to be said?

I am not sure if people come to Yahoo answers to connect spiritually or to blame people for something. I am sure some are befitting of this category. I am doubtful of your truthfullness as to you wanting someone else's insight pertaining to anything outside of the ideas and opinions you have probably made up your mind about. I am not "here" I am where I am and did not arrive somewhere else. I am communicating from another location and that is where I am. I am not actually "here" on a forum as this forum is not a place. Not everyone is searching for something because they trade answers or questions. Most of this is just entertainment or amusement. This is not a true medium for finding answers to things but is a forum that may point you in a direction that may be similar or different than your own ideas. I feel you know what you believe and are not sincere about what others believe. I have chosen to respond to a question of which is very vague and claims to have open minded properties of which I doubt are sincere. I think you are attempting to manipulate ideas that you seem to think you have an answer to. Your arrogance is obvious.

I am here because i would like other people to know what the bible really says about things. The sacred secrets of god are contained in his word the bible.
I do not offer my viewpoint in an opinionated way but rather with a spirit of reasonableness . i am open to logical discussion and discussing and sharing my faith with all people .
I am right and you are wrong is a very bad attitude.

I am part of a closed Yahoo group. One day, while visiting my private forum, I noticed that Yahoo had links to these pages. Out of curiosity, I hit the link and found myself here. Since arriving...
I've vacillated between finding R & S a wonderful meeting spot for the exchange ideas and lively debate - to - being depressed at the general intolerance level expressed by those who refuse to see or entertain a different point of view. In short, I've come away with the understanding that this forum is a microcosm of the greater world - with all its good points and all of the devastating bad. So...
I've posted questions and answered lots, received a goodly number of "best answers" and I've left with the hope that perhaps I've helped people to see a more reasonable, measured point of view. I've also hoped that with my presence here on this forum, that perhaps those who are believers of one of the three monotheistic religions will come away with an understanding that those of us who do not believe as they do, are not evil and are in fact good people who contribute positively to society.

I come here to share my opinion with others and not get bashed or pushed into one religion or the other. I dont push. I respect others and their opinions with an open mind. I am not sorry that I dont believe in just one God. I am more into the Religion of Nature.

I'm here because I have a love of religion, spirituality and religious history. I enjoy the questions and answers of others and I enjoy the differing perspectives that you can't get on a site that caters to a specific religion

To help others understand there is one Supreme God who is unlimited and has many names (Krishnak, Allah, Jehovah, etc.) and has sent all true religions. If one gets this understanding they can become happy and peaceful.. Krishna says in the Gita "Whenever there is a decline in religious principals and the truth appears to be lost I appear again and again or send my representative." Also I want to help others to understand that the bible has been misinterpreted and there is much proof of that. But the Christian Essen's have found the lost teachings in the basement of the Vatican and people should read. go to www.essene.org and www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truths

For me it's a combination of everything you listed. I have learned things here I didn't know before, about other faiths.
I have also learned how ignorant some are to others religions.

I like to come here because I want to share the gospel with those willing to listen (or read). Also, I try to put to rest some of those crazy and untrue rumors and falsehoods about us as Latter-day Saints.
