yo randy g:
you mean like killing all the people that refused to convert in the early days of your religion? or do you mean like forcing into slavery all those who didn't think as they did?
christianity has the bloodiest history of all.

Why do black people and Jews get so defensive over what people say? Here's the reason for all three. At a certain point, you feel picked on, whether it's true or not. Sometimes you are being picked on, sometimes not.

If you look over this forum (as well as practically any other open forum), look and see which religions are attacked. There are scatterings of attacks on other religions, but you'll notice that Christianity is regularly attacked. Probably people just love to get a rise out of them.

It is pretty typical for people to get fed up and to be oversensitive. This doesn't condone any rude behavior on their part, but it does give some insight.

Generally, I enjoy open discussion of my faith, and welcome questions. Lots of times, when I have been challenged with a question I couldn't answer, and been forced to (egads) THINK...the process has actually strengthened my faith.
There are some questions that have been asked in this forum that have gotten me "worked up and defensive", however...such as these, and others like them:

Why do Christians still worship a dead Jew on a stick?
What was the funniest part in The Passion of The Christ?
I really hate Jesus Don't You?
Since John was the Apostle Jesus loved most do you think they were involved romantically?
Should we refer to the Trinity as Big Papa, Junior, and Casper The Friendly Ghost?
Does eating the body of Christ make you a cannibal?
Why are Christians so stupid?

Do you get the idea, here?
However, as someone else stated, I have not blown anyone up or beheaded anyone because of mocking questions like these...usually, I just ignore them, and, as my elders taught me, I "consider the source"......

Peace

I expect my faith as a Christian to be questioned. I expect that even persecution will come about to all those professing Christ. Christ was murdered on a cross. Should Christians expect no less? If we are followers of Christ, questioning is a perfect opportunity to share the message of God's love and forgiveness. Christians need to share more of the message in view of the times we live in. We need to let the world know that Jesus is on his way back! Questioning should not be offensive to those who wish to share the love of Christ our Lord.

To believe so passionately in something that is so important to the you and knowing that you are doing the will of God and knowing the reasons why you are doing the will of God ,you just HAVE to teach the truth as well as live it. To have someone defiling Jehovah by telling lies or whatever is hurtful and heart felt so its important that the truth be told. I never become offended that I,m questioned about my beliefs. I expect it. I do become offended out of love for Jehovah when lies are told about him but never to the point where I,m offensive ever to any one.

Do we really? It's a shame if that is true. But don't forget that the disturbing and/or excitable answers get remembered more easily than the calm, wise answers.

usually because they have not taken the time to question themselves and establish their faith to the point of knowing.
not just believing. plus they really love jesus even though they don't understand or know him very well.

Hmm. Looks like you have some particular reason for singling out one particular group.

Looks like EVERYONE gets worked up and defensive in this forum (or, haven't you taken the time to read anyone else's questions and answers?).

You might have noticed Muslims have a bit of a thin skin also.

All people with delusional beliefs seem to be VERY defensive about themselves. Almost as if they don't really believe, and have to shout it repeatedly to convince themselves.
