Is that question supposed to imply that the "perfection" of God exists in us all, or that, God is in us all, were screwed up, thus God must be screwed up too?

God was one of us -- around 2000 years ago. However, many of the people then either did not believe or did not know the prophesies that had been made about the coming of Jesus. Even though there were multiple prophesies for thousands of years prior from various people.

Interestingly, the book of Isaiah pre-dates Jesus some 800 years and parts of it told in detail about Jesus. Philip taught the Ethiopian eunuch about Jesus, using the book of Isaiah (read about it in the Book of Acts). Jesus quoted from Isaiah and we have ancient manuscripts of Isaiah from the Dead Sea Scrolls. Cool ... very cool.

The Holy Spirit does dwell in the hearts of all believers. But not all people are believers in truth. We humans are "screwed up" due to the nature of sinful flesh....but that does not diminish the Glory of God...As for God being "one of us" in a sense He was One of us..His Name is Jesus Christ! The difference though..between Jesus & the rest of us...He knew NO sin! He was perfect & gave His perfect lives for our sinful ones..as a ransom. There is coming a day in which all shall see the righteousness and the perfect completion of God's awesome plan!
Take the time to explore the truth! You might just be surprised by what you will find!

I think that question is meant to ask us this: What if we came face to face with that Perfection of which we fall totally short? What if we came face to face with that Wisdom that goes incomprehensibly far beyond our meager, human understanding? What would we do if we were *actually* confronted with That Which IS? How would we react? How would we feel? What would we say, or do? While we live here on Earth, we can choose to ignore God, ignore our consciences, hold on tight to our favorite delusions. What if we didn't have that "escape" anymore? Life would be tough. Life would be utterly, forever changed. We would no longer be able to get away with slacking off or settling for second-best. I think that when you really start to contemplate it, the question goes pretty deep.

Yeah yeah god is good Yeah Yeah what if god was one of us?
Just a slug like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus trying to make his way home? I loved that song Yeah yeah yeah.

Yes god is within us all. And if you truly believe and accept this then you will hear his voice. Our soul which is us is the devine piece of god, in which makes us connected. To believe anything otherwise only cuts that connection. Jesus said it. Mohamad said it Buddha said it, even god did according to the bible when man ate the apple, which we as man knew the difference between good and evil we are therfore gods ourselves. This is why the ultimate source lives within us to guide us through the good, and evil of mans creation. The soul knows no limits upon man. Man sets his own limitations, and this man already knows, but has to be dumbfounded by it so he may remember. I wish you well.

God became one of us by INCARNATION, when God took on a human body and experienced all that we do, even dying. This person is Jesus Christ. When he went to live with the Father after his death he took his humanity with him. Jesus Christ is the only perfect person who ever lived in this world.

God could not be one of us, then He wouldn't be God. God's perfection is reflected by us, like a mirror. Sometimes we see it...a flash of light reflected back, but mostly we don't see it. It is when we don't have that reflection, we screw up. Which is probably most of the time.

I thought it was supposed to be slightly ironic. Good song though.

I think it asks more about how we would veiw a more aproachable god. what if God was one of us? Just one of us. Not some untouchable unattainable.

god is in all of us and the reason why most of us are screwed up is because we sin and do what we want to do and not what god wants us to do.

God is not human, we are. Therefore, we are the ones who messed up. God's perfiction is in us only if we have the Holy Spirit in us.

We are in no way perfect, just forgiven.
