The best way is for YOU to ignore then and not judge them. If you are constantly responding to them, then you are lowering your self to their level. If you are together and not lazy then don't be in their business....stay in your own space and don't waste your energies on fussing about them.
You don't have any power to change them, you can only change how you react to them.

If they are stupid, than it doesn't matter what you do. The laziness comes from the stupidity. Not much you can do about that.

Tell them to stop being lazy. It is easy to scare them by telling them they won't have any money to live on. That will teach them to get off their butts and go find themselves a job.

Give me a situation and I can answer accurately otherwise I woulu put them in their place so they see how annoying it could be!!!

Find something that would interest him/her to do that would trigger her/his imagination to get her motivation back. But if all your effort seems futile just let go....and perhaps move on...
