Why was the word "gay" chosen to describe homosexuals? Where did that originate? Do homosexuals prefer being called "gay" over "homosexual?"

When I refer to first religion, I was meaning in reference to the Christian religion that came after the pagans, in which Moses and Abraham were followers of. When I say the word conception, I mean to imply anyone's conception of the divinity of god. So to deny the divinty of anyones god was to be said atheism. John Wingfield claimed in his tract Atheism closed and open Anatomized (1964) said that the hypocrite was an "atheist". he who will not be taught or reformed, which can be applied to every religious order that would not respect other religions.
Yes I am aware that in todays society that atheism is the belief of no god, and in this way of thinking the mind is not clouded, and can do greet deeds for man rather than something that is not tangible. All that I am suggesting is that Christians are angered by the question mark that atheist pose to their beliefs in god. And although they may not realize it they do the same by believing in their faith, because it was a seperate belief

A 4-year-old boy who was asked to return thanks before Christmas dinner.
He began his prayer, thanking God for all his friends, naming them one by one.
Then he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister.
Then he began to thank God for the food.
He gave thanks for the turkey, the dressing, the fruit salad, the pies.
Then he paused, and everyone waited
After a long silence, the young fellow looked up at his mother and asked,
"If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"

I had asked everyone earlier to name a burger made from a specific meat...Rabbit...There were many good answers to choose from and the Two that were the most appealing to me ... Hassen Burgers and Coney Burgers....two names that doesnt bring the cute wittle wabbit effect to the surface...My question is, if your best friend told you they just ate at this resturant that sold Hassen Burgers, and the burgers were more filling,, tastes way better than the normal everyday franchise burger, better than chicken or beef and cost around the same price...Would you try it once, or would you refuse to eat it because it just isnt what you are used to?

Alright, I am sexually attracted to other women, but nobody knows it except for the one girl that I "got down" with this past summer. Well, I am friends with this girl that is very pretty and extremely sexy. We talk a lot. I've never said anything about being attracted to her. But, I wonder if she has ever thought about having an encounter with another woman. We work together and usually take our breaks together. So, one day I came to her desk to see if she was ready to go to break. She was sewing her strap on her dress because it was about to come loose. When she saw me she smiled and kept doing what she was doing. The thing is that the as she was talking to me, she was still sewing and ended up pulling the strap down. When she did this I could see her breast and part of her nipple. She didn't try to cover herself and carried on with the conversation. So, I am wondering if she was purposely showing me to get me going. She also tells me about her masterbating. What do u think?

I smile, I laugh when I can. I laugh many times at myself. I have never met a Christian who was somber and depressing. Where does this stereotype come from?

Each of the following represents a different reason for doing good. Which one would you pick for the least self-centered?
(1) to accumulate ‘good karma’ for the next life
(2) to get an eternal reward in heaven
(3) to get hero/’humble’ recognition by others
(4) to get a feeling of purpose/meaning in this life
(5) does good without expectations and reward because it fits a humble/spiritual or other self-concept/ideal
(6) does good because it fits in with one’s self concepts and principles
(7) does good without expectations and reward and with no thought of self (not even principles) but only because of empathy to relieve suffering

According to Orson Pratt
(September 19, 1811 – October 3, 1881) was a leader in the Latter Day Saint movement and an original member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles.)
in his writings "The Pre-Existence of Man" The Seer 1 (September 1853)
He wrote that

"the person of our Father in Heaven was begotten on a previous heavenly world by His Father; and again, He was begotten by still more ancient Father; and so on, from generation
to generation, from one heavenly world to another still more ancient, untill our minds are wearied and lost in the multiplicty of generations and successive worlds. "

Since the LDS teach that the universe never had a beginning in time, this view implies that there are an infinite number of mormon gods, each one whom had another god as his father. The particular God who is the god of our earth is just one link in an infinite chain of mormon gods

My late Dad's birth certificate has details of his baptism on the back. He was a Catholic. Under the baptism details are 3 lines saying B.V.P., each with a date. The only thing I can find on the internet for B.V.P. is the Catholic party in Germany during the war. Given that Dad was badly wounded fighting the Germans, I don't think he'd have joined that! Anyway, the dates on the certificate are late 60s and early 70s. Anyone out there got a clue?

Is it by chance that a person is brought up to believe a certain thing. I was brought up as a Christian but I just could have easily been brought in a country such as India and brought up as a Hindu(conceptually). Those ideals would be etched in my character and I would accept it as true and anything to differ wrong. Many people preach that if you don't believe in God and sin you are going to hell. Young kids and many others are frightened of the consequences of not believing and are scared into believing. And accept all of it as true. It's like brainwashing. People take it too seriously. Is any religon. really true. 100% Why can't scientific facts be accepted? Not many seem to question the religion they were brought up to believe so may be getting a false sense of reality. and the overall creation of the universe. Not saying religion is wrong or God does not exist. I don't know. It can't be proven wrong. But in the end, on the flip side it can't be proven right.
