I know of several babies that were born by people who decided to try self-control.

Self-control fails more often. You can double-up on birth control (pills & condoms) and gain almost 100% prevention.

I'd have to say that birth control is more effective than self-control.

Self-control is 100% effective when it's used properly. However, since the desire to have sex (sex drive) is so intense, it tends to over-ride clear thinking and reason.

Birth control is rarely at the mercy of hormones. The only time it becomes less effective is thru mis-use (mis-application).

There is no guaranteed effective form of control, If we depend on our own efforts. But with God we can do all things.
Birth control in marriage. Self-control out of marriage.

Birth Control is only 99.9% effective because of accidents and misuse. Otherwise It would be 100%

Abstinence/Self-control has an even less percent chance than that because God can impregnate you with a savior anytime he wants. Just ask Mary!

Self -control is better. Why? Because it is harder to do.
It is like it is easier to get into a fight, but it much harder to be patient, kind and forgiving.
And these are virtues God really likes and appreciates in a person.
The hardest thing really to do is to deny one's self from self indulgences.

Abstinence is the only 100% effective method. But we are only human, we have a biological need to mate. So I would say the pill, 99.9%

Self control but unfortunately so many seem to feel they have none or do not need to exercise it.
