My best friend's uncle, with whom she lives, doesn't pay any attention whatsoever to the world around him or the people in it. She once told him she was going to a new hairdresser because she didn't like how the old one did her hair, and the he asked immediately afterward, "Why don't you just find a new stylist?" Or she'll ask him to please not smoke in their apartment due to her asthma, only to find him standing close enough to an open window for the smoke to come right back inside. He claims she hadn't made these requests, but she and I both know he did as I was there. I find this inattentiveness to be the lowest form of rudeness. What do you think?

Well, it just irks me because they are so backward with their beliefs that they have to remain covered up, yet they drive and do everything else someone normal does like talk on a cell phone with that ridiculous veil completely covering everything but their eyes. It is just annoying. If women are so low then why would they be allowed to do so many things alone? They need to stay hidden because normal people should be using cell phones and buy fast food, not these religious zealots.

I have these Mason Jars at home that I am using for part of my halloween decorating scheme. I am putting calf hearts in them to be part of my decore. Now I don't have lids for them could anyone suggest something ... I don't want them to smell they have to sit in the office all day long for the judging contest. I live in a 1600 square foot house with a decent sized back yard in Austin Texas. There are currenly 59 people that say they will attend and another 10 that might attend. I'm providing beer and a margarita machine. I'm 28 and I don't know anyone who was invited that is under the age of 25. I plan to talk to my neighbors to give them a heads-up, but I'm worried about violating fire codes for too many people in the house or city ordinances for too many cars on the street. Where should I check for this type of information?

I have this lovely old lady visit me regularly, i made the mistake the first time of being polite and pretending to be interested in what she was saying because she was so cute and lovely and i didnt have the heart to say no thankyou. I find biology interesting and ID people are here to kill off the enthusiasm by saying everything is made by a supreme being.... get it? no further do-it-your-own research is needed to explain phenomenas... just knowing its that supreme being who does it all.

i know that the secularist vs. christian debate is hard and emotional but, to an extent, can't we set theological arguments aside and just look out for our fellow man and try to make sure that we do our part so that no one is left to rot and die. Jesus said that whatever you do for the least of his brothers we do for Jesus himself. If someone was to sincerely care about his fellow man, yet not believe in the actual existence of god, can't we finally just stop trying to tell those kind of people that they are "lost in satan's lies" and "going to hell?"

Think about it........if christians would spend less time condemning secular humanism and raising hell when department stores have banners that say "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas,"
then they would have more time to do god's true commandment, loving your brother as your self.

I was invited to twist balloons at a Halloween party sponsored by the local church.

In a previously asked question, the Answers community was solidly against the idea of calling a band that uses satanic imagery "Christian," despite the fact Satan is a Christian figure.

I am not Christian, but I don't understand how Christians can reject a rock-band because of it's satanic imagery, but celebrate a holiday with deep roots in the very same concepts.

I'm not asking this for personal reasons. I'm going to turn down the offer to work the party so I can take my girls trick or treating, and I'm neither in a "satanic" band, nor am I particularly fond of most bands that indulge in those themes. I'm just trying to reconcile this apparent discrepancy. I know other Christian groups are opposed to Halloween - how do those that are not opposed address this conflict?
