Start with the anniversary of women's right to vote. Go on back and look for folks like Lucretia Mott and Sojourner Truth who fought hard for women's rights and the rights of slaves.

Women arent second class citizens, not sure where you got that info from.Women today may have similar talents and abilities as any man who is a preacher or elder, that does not invalidate the fact that God has said that the role of a woman is to be a submissive one, especially in the marriage relationship and in the public worship of the church. Women in pulpits and as elders in local churches are as foreign to God's design for the local congregation as priests from the tribe of Judah would have been during Moses' day and for the same reason: God specified from which tribe he wanted the priests to come (Heb. 7:11-14) and he has also been specific regarding the gender from which he wants elders and preachers. Cultural changes and all of the hermenutical manipulation we might engage in won't change that a bit. If the principles in 1Cor. 14 do not apply today and restrict women from preaching and teaching in our assemblies, then are those in chapter 7 regarding marriage, divorce and remarriage likewise to be ignored? And if we can somehow circumvent 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Tit. 1:5-9 and allow women to serve as elders, why can't we ignore Paul's charge in 2 Tim. 4:2 and preach whatever message we feel like? The sad truth is that in many cases brethren have been consistent and done exactly as we've just indicated. Biblical principles regarding the various roles of women which have guided us well in the past are now being ignored. Relying more and more on subjective feelings rather than objective truth, an attempt is being made to re-define women's roles by ignoring the Divine will. Change is sometimes warranted---even in regard to women's roles---but when change means departure from objective direction a certain doom is all that we can expect.

LMAO to the person who said check it out on Islam ^^

Culturally women have been treated second class in many places but in places like Indonesia, muslim women pretty much rule the place with rights that put men in the place of second class citizens.

As for the questioner, yea going back in history will be a good idea but the fact is women get lower wages in same jobs as men in most modern countries of the world today so the fact is, its not miseducation that needs to be addressed, its more or less the impression of women that men have: creatures that were made to please them.

so long as this image stays in the subconcsious of men, with things like porn and open display of female flesh in ads that got nothing to do with women, am sure the facts wont change.

we women need to stand up for our own rights of self respect by not letting the men use us to their advantage and then blame us for the treatment we get.

Check out islamic countries, (no offense to muslims, but its true). In some islamic countries, you need 4 witnesses to prove you were raped, which obviously isn't gonna happen, I mean, how many rapists perform in front of an audience? Women in many of these countries are circumcised so they can't ever enjoy sex, if they're discovered to be pregnant and aren't married, they can be stoned to death (even if raped, see rape situation above), family members can kill women if they feel they've dishonored the family, known as honor killings. None of this applies to men, of course. So if you want to do a report on women being 2nd class citizens, look in those countries.
