No. Awareness is not enough.

I am aware money is valuable, but it is not precious to me.

Love is precious to me, because I've experienced it's life-enhancing ability.

That which is precious makes us better people, whether we are aware of it or not.

No. Unless you mean sentimental value. Some things are precious because of memories or who gave it to us, and they may not have any monetary value.

Yes, but different folks value different things at different levels. One person may value friendship above all else, while someone else may value money for example.
