Ok, I am not trying ot sound racist by asking this question, but when one dates a Russian Exchange Student, what is the expectations in the relationship. I know, that the Russian Culture is totally different from the American Culture and I want to know what exactly is expected of a female in this culture. For instance, in some Islam cultures the male does not allow the female to be seen w/o her hijra in the presence of other males, unless they are close relatives. I just want to know what is a woman's role in Russian Society. BTW, I am in the USA, and he is an exchange student; so he is probalby not gonna adapt the the American Culture so quickly. Any incite would be extremely helpful!

A friend of mine gave me food for thought yesterday when she posed a question.
No matter how evil man is,when that person gets to heaven they MUST become pure again. If they did not then God himself would have failed because God is pure.Could this be possible and therefore where does Hell and redemption fit into this?

I'm going back to work tomorrow- good riddance, anyone- but I'd still like to go out with a bang instead of this fizzle. Can you people help me come up with a really good question to ask before I go?

The vast majority of Americans believe that God exists, that Jesus is his son, and that God himself gave us the Bible and the Ten Commandments. In fact, Supreme court Justice Antonin Scalia has said that "Ninety-nine percent of Americans believe in the ten commandments." He has also said, "What the commandments stand for is the direction of human affairs by God."

If 99% of Americans believe in the ten commandments, how can the Bible be repulsive? Let's take the fourth commandment as an example. It says:

Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. For six days you shall labour and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. [Exodus 20: 8-9]
This, supposedly, is the word of God, the almighty ruler of the universe.
Now think about this. Wal-mart is open on the Sabbath. And so is Target.

When you ask a question on here, and people give you the truthful answers, and someone takes it to heart cause they dont want their feelings hurt, why do the get all butt hurt, and report you for saying the truth, and the same goes for questions too, when you ask a question, why do people take some questions the wrong way and report it?? To me if you cant handle the truth, then you shouldnt post a question, am I correct?

Out of all the different Christian faiths, which faith takes the lead in evangelizing? Baptists? Lutherans? Methodists? Episcopalians? Catholics? Orthodox? Salvation Army? Other?

I'm not looking for opinions, but for facts.

Oh, I still get a laugh out of that.

I've sat for hours searching the net, using every relevent search term I could think of and I cannot get the facts on what life was like for a novice/nun in Catholic Ireland in the 50s and 60s. Does anyone know of a reliable link I could go to? It's really important to me.

Do you have any recomended sites that will allow a family or individual to adopt a needy family or child for christmas online?

I am looking for sites ONLINE because some do not have the local sources as one might have in a large city.

I am looking for something more personal than just a cash donation to a charity.
