Gypsies use curses to try to intimidate you into giving them money. Curses don't really work but they try to make you think they do. The best reply is to say that you have the power of the hex and you will curse them. The basic gypsy curse is as below:

"May you wander over the face of the earth forever, never sleep twice in the same bed, never drink water twice from the same well, and never cross the same river twice in a year."

Best advice is to find a white witch in your area and get her to undo the curse. If you are not happy with this idea find a priest or a preacher. A gypsy has very little power and is in effect powerless. A white witch on the other hand has considerable power, so too does a priest or preacher.

"never cross", usually means `always buy from". It is a form of blackmail playing on the gullible who imagine the mysterious unknown Gypsies have secret powers. It never occurs to the gullible that anyone with secret powers would not sell clothes -pegs for a living!!

That happened a lot in the olden days- when I was a lad.
Also instead of asking for money they said "cross my palm with silver".
Of course it helped their business if they could persuade you they had the power to curse you. (of course with this great power the best job they could get was selling clothes pegs).

So people say, my mom was really superstitious and would always buy off gypsies so she wasn't cursed and if she didn't have the money to buy off them she would come in and chuck salt over her left shoulder and throw salt on the fire too to break the curse, I never buy off them myself as I honestly believe its just bunkum and old superstition.

I was bothered more than once mainly selling trinkets etc, and they used to scare me, I then became a Christian, oneday a gypsy came knocking on my door, as soon as she looked at me, she stared and stared, her eyes bulged out and she ran off without saying a word, no idea why but they never come near me since.

I was actually approached by a gypsy once whilst out shopping and she scared the life out of me because she was bothered by my eyes! I have one blue and one green and it freaked her out so much, she wandered off muttering to herself. I still have no clue whether she was cursing me or praying!

Yes I have heard this before. I have met gypsies before and they look like they could be very evil if provoked. So if your smart, don't cross any.
