I grew up just after WW2, kids then were classed as hooligans and 'teddy boys', but no do-gooders made excuses for us then so why do they seem to fall over theirselves to make them for todays yobboes?

Maybe they have forgotten they themselves were young once, maybe its political correctness gone mad, maybe lack of parental input and disregard for anyone else as long as they don't have to bother with or see what their kids are up to, a lazy society with so little respect or regard for anyone and too much of 'I'm alright Jack' attitude, we had mods and rockers when I was growing up, but generally a sweeping brush slapped round their backsides usually shifted them and sent them packing, or maybe they really were just terrified of my mom.

Well, we have more insight now about what causes the antisocial behaviors; I think this has made room for empathy. However, our ability to intercede with preventive measures is still rather crippled.

Because people have learned more about the effects that parents and society have on children and people don't automatically assume that the child is a "bad seed". You should try it one day, maybe you'll like it.

Well, gee, you wouldn't want to mess with their self esteem would you? They might grow up to be antisocial and act out - oh wait, they're doing that now.

You're right - too many excuses are made and too little responsibility is taken.

today's generation is waste of space. i blame it on the food. the food is making our youths into schizophrenics.
