Do you have any recomended sites that will allow a family or individual to adopt a needy family or child for christmas online?

I am looking for sites ONLINE because some do not have the local sources as one might have in a large city.

I am looking for something more personal than just a cash donation to a charity.

I don't know about just for Christmas, but this link will take you to a site where you can "adopt" an orphan and send and receive letters and pictures while providing for their food and Christian education for a small amount of money each month.
