The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

Does Warren Buffet and Bill Gates that between both of them gave 70 billion dollars to charity count on this?

Your soul is your spirit, your lifeforce. What happens to it when you pass away?

Mom is sort of Methodist/Baptist. She was severely hurt when I stopped being a Christian and sought to convert to Judaism. Now, as far as she knows, I'm just sort of nothing. She knows I believe in God, and I go to the Methodist church on RARE occasions.

So what do you think? Would she be relieved if I became a Catholic, or would she be upset about that too?

I particularly seek answers from those who are Protestants and feel that Catholics are not quite in truth. Because that's kind of how my mom thinks. What would you think if I were your daughter?

Which of the following statements describes you?

"I will be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs UNTIL they display actions unworthy of it."

"I will NOT be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs UNLESS they are tolerant of mine first."

"I will NEVER be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs, no matter what."

"I will ALWAYS be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs, no matter what."

Picking a somewhere-between option is OK, as is a totally different option. Further explanation is also appreciated.

There are no right or wrong answers.

They all lived long after and claim they were there during his life. An lie to start off. People that were alive during his time (from his home town) had never heard of him. In a small town a living god would have been a big deal, dont you think. There was orignally nothing written about Jesus's childhood because the creators of christianity didnt think it would be necessary. Later when people question, that when the blanks were filled in. Christanity became popular when leaders combined the theories with govenment and forced it into everyones lives. thoughts?

Many people do not truly understand the power of a soul. Why are people not mindful of their very own value? Today we see people willing to sell out for fame, money, power and greed. The old saying goes " you can't take it with you" isn't true. What you plant in this life will follow you through eternity. I am trying to understand why anyone would give up the gift of their soul for such a low price? Causing them to move on to eternal damnation. The soul has great power, we have been given the opportunity to change the world in wonderful ways, so where is the profit in this transaction for the soul? It is a poor business decision to sell something for far less a price than its actual value. No profit in selling your soul so give it back to the Creator and be amazed at what He can do with you!!!

My friend is working at a christian daycare that has just adopted the montessori method as the basis for their school model.

She has a suspicion that the montessori method seems like it is based on humanistic theories.

My friend wants to know if montessori is humanistic, and if that is in conflict with the values or methods a christian day care should be promoting.

so should a christian daycare use the montessori method?

Is humanism in conflict with christian teaching?

I'm not sure where to put this, education or religion, but its safe to say humanism is rather main stream in education so I am putting it under religion.
THe question is not if a humanist would have a problem with montessori, but wheather a christian SHOULD have a problem with it.

I was driving home after the gym and for some odd reason I had a question pop into my mind.. It was something about - what really happens when someone dies? Where will I go? I'm in a point in my life where I'm questioning my faith - I believe in a higher power but I'm still unsure. It's been hard for me because I wasn't raised in a religious household. I'm just starting to read bits and pieces of the Bible but I don't believe that that will give me all the answers. I'm just curious as to why these questions really popped up in my head - I had thoughts about the afterlife and if I'm really going to be in a "heaven" with God, or if I'm just going to close my eyes and fall asleep - never waking up again. I dunno - I'm just scared because I know there's something to believe in because so many others claim they KNOW/FEEL God - and I feel left out because I don't know any part of that. If any of you have any advice, please give me some.

Why do people think that I should "grow up" and tell mom about my Hindu beliefs? How mature is that really? To rip your dear mother's heart out just so you can be "free" to practice your religion and be yourself?
Isn't that just selfish?

I came out about two years ago--I'm almost twenty now. I have an ob/gyn that I see for pelvics and bc and everything (I'm on bc to regulate my periods). I'm wondering if I should tell her about my orientation? I trust her and everything--I'm sure she wouldn't freak out or anything, but I'm still a little nervous, because my family flipped out. I haven't ever had sex (kind of embarassed about that), but I guess I'd like her help with making sure I avoid STD's and all that crap when I do, because I have no clue about how to do that with les sex. Do you think I should tell her? What should I say? Do you think she'll be knowledgeable about safe les sex? (Sorry about all the questions--I go to this anti-gay college and I'm pretty cut off from the gay community here.) Any personal experience/knowledge would help. Thanks so much!
