Just because Warren Buffet and Bill Gates give billions of dollars away to charity doesn't automatically make them good people. In fact, no one is good because we all fail God's test, the Ten Commandments, so we need Jesus in order to do any good in this world. If these men do not know the God that created them and do not constantly search for His Will, then they aren't serving the God that created them the way that He intended for them to, but I personally do not know where both men stand as far as their relationships with God, so I can't say anything about them specifically. Just on a side note, remember that in God's eyes, all sin is equal, no matter what it may be. Yes, that means to God, murder is the same as a white lie, which is the same as disobeying your parents, and any sin you could possibly think of; it's all equal, which is why we need God. The great thing is that we are redeemed of our sins if we just ask for forgiveness, and I have gotten completely off topic, so just know that all sin is equal, no matter what it is, but it's all wiped away once we ask for forgiveness.

Aethists can do limited good froim the bounties and mercy of the God Wh provided them in first place. However anyone who does nto beleive in the God or takes partners with the God is committing such a grave sin which is unforgivebale. So all their good acts will be rewarded here nad they will have none in the Hereafter. As God is not a human being and can't be imagined in phyiscla forms by our senses, and He is manifested therough His creation like light is manifested indireclty after reflection on other things, Christians and Hindus must refrain from taking partners with the God as Abraham did. he rejected the practices of his father and his nation who used to take gods torthe than the real and one and only God. TheGod is prefectly capable of guiding human beings so He sent divine books and as books got corrupted he sent new ones till the last messenger Muhammad came who was pro9msied in Torah and Injeel (Book sof Moses and Jesus respectively) and whom then leaders of Judiaism and Chsitiainyt recognized like they recognize their own sons. (The Jewish leder of Madian immediatley beleived in the Prophet Muhammad and so many good and honest christans scholars too). The God then made Quran fresh frozen and even fresh. So after 1450 years Quran is wellprtoected letter by letter, word by word in its original language and that cna be witnessed by visiting any of million sof Muslim mosques across the wolrd.

There are many Atheists that do good things in the world.
The problem is mankind's definition of "good."

Man compares his works with those of other men.

Comparing man's good works against the good works of God leaves man with a terrible deficiency. That's why Psalm 14:1 reads the way it does.

i think it's like a king who had given his subjects gifts. suppose his subjects rebelled against the king, and used those gifts against him, or for purposes other than what they were intended for. those gifts, which were very good are now evil, because in rebellion against the king, even though it might help some ppl out, whatever those subjects do, the fact remains that they are in rebellion, and what the king says ''goes.''

i dunno...i don't think all sin is equal, or else how could God be just in ordering differring levels of punishment for each sin? true, each sin, no matter how small, can earn hell, but some sins only require ceremonial washings, others require death.

The motives behind whatever anybody does changes the action. Even though it was good (very very good) to give that much money to charity...how do you know that their reasons weren't simply attempts to be popular or to make Hollywood have something to say about them? They are foolish me. They are too proud to admit that their could be someone higher than them. I know that there is.

Giving to Charity, does not make one Good, but yes I do believe that the Bible is truth! And yes Atheists may do good things, too, but they do not praise God! And that is where they fall short and do no good!

I don't think the verse is actually talking about atheist. It is saying that the immoral person acts as if there is no God. That is not to say those who believe this is no god are ipso facto immoral.

God's Wisdom is foolishness to man, but man's wisdom is foolishness before God. His definitions are not ours. Even giving to the poor, done wrongly, does no good in God's eyes. I do not expect you to understand.

and they gave so men could praise them..the difference with a Christian(pure christain) is that the things they do for people they dont want no Glory for it,,they will give that to the Lord..It is the Lord who puts the thoughts in your heart to give and I give Him all the Glory in every good thing I do..

In a spirtual way...you know..like people that try to lead others away from God...hmmmmm...Besides,whose to say other motives weren't there? Like " look at how great I am? I gave this much!"
