The Book states that Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ. If so, did Jesus, facial or other bodily feature wise, resemble Virgin Mary? How about Joseph(the father?)? Does Bible have a passage describing his resemblance to any one of his biological parents?

I don't mean just religious. I have that. I mean more calm, focused and sensitive to the higher and greater meanings in life.

It has taken a stand against moral relativism, the degredation of the value placed on human dignity and life, but is virtually alone in its efforts among a secular and contemptuous world which preaches open-mindedness but still attacks religious rights.

I was never given a religion as a child and nor was God spoken about much in my house and if he was brought up it was usually in the curse form. A few years back I decided to believe and have faith in God but because of my lack of knowledge about God and religion found it very hard to choose what religion I should choose with all the different meanings of each religion and conflict with each, I ended up throwing in the towel and walked away feeling I had to have a religion in order to believe or worship. Well here I am a few years later finding myself wanting and needing God in my life but again am faced with the conflict of what religion I should choose. Do I have to have a religion to believe and have God accept me or is the fact I read the bible and try to follow his teachings to the best of my ability good enough?

This quote is from an answer given elsewhere:

"The difference between Christian morals and others may be that Christian morals are selfless and others may be for more selfish reasons."

I don't get this. If I am an atheist, and I do not believe in an afterlife, what (aside from obvious legal repercussions) is stopping me from doing whatever makes me happy? Why not embezzle money and kill anyone who bugs me? There's no heaven to reward me and no hell to punish me--so why not?

If I am a Christian, and I believe I will be rewarded in the afterlife for my good deeds, why wouldn't I work my butt off to accumulate more good standing with God?

Why would a Christian have morals?
Why would an atheist have morals?
Is it more commendable to do what is right because you are being rewarded for it, or to do it because of your own decision?

Proof that the Bible is accurate or proof that Jesus is the son of God? I don't think anyone has proof that God spoke to man besides eye-witness accounts, which are the least reliable form of evidence.

I have read the bible (twice) and the koran (once) completely. I once was a christian. I have completely discounted both documents as being completely absurd for many reasons. Neither book is PROOF of ANYTHING except that humans are superstitious. The bible contradicts itself in a thousand places, as does the koran. Both have scientific impossibilities that cannot be reconciled, such as rainbows being "sent" by god, when we all know that they are formed by refracted light. There is not enough water on the entire planet, in ANY form, to flood the whole world. It is impossible to fit even one of each creature on a 400ft boat. There were giants before the flood AND after the flood, even though every living thing supposedly died. Where are the giants now?

PROVE TO ME THAT THE BIBLE OR KORAN GOD EXISTS AND I WILL DONATE ONE MILLION DOLLARS TO YOUR RELIGIOUS GROUP!!!

Since nobody can prove it, everybody should stop using it as an excuse to make law, or to harm other people. It's stupid.

or perhaps was god in allowing his only begotten son to be killed commiting fratricide?
god really is a god of love ,i understand the purpose of a sacrificial lamb in ending sacrificial right ,rite
dont get the passover lamb thing prior to exodus but i understand the need for the christ to be killed on this important day
exodus was after all about setting the poeple free
i dont understand the chocolate egg thing but do understand the fertility of the rabbit called easter buny
i realise this important historic rememberance of both the exodus and christs death was that the exodus thing be well hidden and remain a simple jewish belief ,but the early christians held this day sacred for the same reason
the east gate that is walled up ,through which jesyus was to triumphantly emerge being walled up i understand ,and i allso uinderstand why the cemitry needs to be there as how can the ptrince of live emerge into a grave yard

God created us. And there are somethings in life we can't choose to be. Like being a gay, lesbian or bisexual, we can't choose that. ITS IN OUR GENES. So, is it God who made us that way?

If so, please explain why so many of the devoutly religious people I've met also are the most judgmental people I've met?

Judging is making a value statement. Judgmental people seem to view others as good or bad, superior or inferior.... This isn't an attribute of love or peace. (Btw, opinion and judgment are synonyms.)
