Proof would deny faith. without faith there is no god.

If god gave proof he existed, he would dissappear in a puff of logic.

I have a hard time believing that there is a God, or an afterlife for that matter. Whenever you ask someone who believes in a God where their proof is, they always say "Well, we're here aren't we?", and while that was proof enough for me when I was a child, I don't buy it anymore.
If someone uses us as the reason for God's existence, then you have to ask yourself, where did God come from? Did it come from another God? And if so, where did that God come from?
Something, somewhere, spontaneously came into being, and what makes people believe it's not us?

What I really hate is how religious people think atheists and agnostics are all "lost souls", who need to be lead to the path of salvation. I myself use to be a Christian, but I am now agnostic, but it's not because I just haven't "seen the way", it's because somewhere in life, I stopped and thought "Hey, how do I know God actually exists? Where is the proof?" and I realized there is none.
There's nothing I would love more then to think that there is an invisible person watching over each and every one of us, and that there is a place we go when we die that we will live in forever in happiness, but the more I think about it, the more hope I lose.

But my basic argument against religion is that some form of life spontaniously formed somewhere, which means that it has no purpose. And if that lifeform made us, then that pretty much means we have no purpose. That's like me growing a culture of bacteria on an agre plate. Am I responsible for there being? Pretty much. So in a sense, I am their God, but when the individual bacteria die, I don't have some plan for them, they just die.

Have you ever examined any of the traditional proofs for God's existence?

Here's one:

All things I observe in the universe are contingent. But if there were no necessary being, they would have nothing upon which to be contingent. Therefore there is a being which exists necessarily and not contingently. This being I name "God."

Can you refute that argument? Can you offer a critique of it, or see what it says and what it doesn't say?

There's some serious thought and study to be done here. You could start with a basic college level philosophy class, so you can become aware of what the great minds of western culture have thought about this issue, from Anselm to Hartshorne...

I’ve received all the proof I need through the Spirit: Profound love and comfort. Peace. Guidance.

It’s not easy to explain unless you experience it for yourself, but I will tell you that once you sense even a hint of God’s Spirit, you know He’s real and you never want to be parted from His presence.

This is why I believe hell is the complete absences of God’s presence. Eternity in complete isolation from God. Never feeling his love. Utterly alone. I can’t imagine a worse vision of Hell.

For a person willing to walk in faith concerning God..... no proof is needed.
For a person not willing to walk in faith concerning God no amout of proof is sufficent.

We were not told anywhere in Gods word to prove him.... only to proclaim him. The rest is between you and God friend.

Hi,

God does exist, but everyone looks in the wrong places. They look to EXTERNAL outside things such as all religions and religious leaders.

If you instead look INTERNALLY to within yourself, you will become Enlightened.

You will then realise that YOU are GOD.

Check out the sites below and become ENLIGHTENED and become GOD for real.

Just take a look around you. Everything in the cosmos could not have happened by chance. The delicate snowflake, flower, intricate working system of man suggests there has to be a higher power.§

He woke me me this morning.
He protects me, even when I was of the world.
He give me air to breathe.
He has kept my family safe and the circle unbroken.
This how I know MY GOD EXIST
He has made a way for me, when I don't know how I'm going to make it.
He delivered from ME from alcohol, fornication, drugs and clubbing.
He has given me and my children favor with people.
He has blessed me with TRUE,UPRIGHT and GOOD people in my life.
