Which of the following statements describes you?
"I will be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs UNTIL they display actions unworthy of it."
"I will NOT be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs UNLESS they are tolerant of mine first."
"I will NEVER be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs, no matter what."
"I will ALWAYS be tolerant of anyone else's beliefs, no matter what."
Picking a somewhere-between option is OK, as is a totally different option. Further explanation is also appreciated.

Is your definition of "tolerance" the real definition, or the politically correct one?
What I mean is this:
Does tolerance mean, "Everyone has a right to believe what they want, and I will put up with it"?
Or, does tolerance mean, "All viewpoints are equally valid."?
Only when the term is defined, can I answer.
UPDATE: Ah! Thanks for the definition, since these days most people throw the baby out with the bath water. In that case, I would say that number 4 is my answer. I can put up with a lot of stupidity, so #1 & #2 are non-issues. #3 is a bit narrow-minded, even for me.

I'm going with option 4. I am USUALLY tolerant of everyone's beliefs, simply because I feel that everyone has the right to live their lives as they choose, and to believe as they wish. There is the occasional person who grates on me, and I lose respect for his particular train of thought.
To say that we are always tolerant would be a lie, as I don't believe that anyone alive can ever view anything without judgment.
Edit: Looking back over the choices, it appears that my views of 1 & 4 could be interchangable. However, I still feel option 4 is a better choice for me.

I am generally just tolerant. No conditions. Even the JW who called my daughter a whore of Babylon will be tolerated and we assume he is an aberration. Actually I think he wanted her and then condemned her to Hell for his sin.

How about..."I am always tolerant of the individual (at least I try!)....I am only tolerant of the individual's viewpoint when it does not contradict the Word of God"

well i am very opinionated....i try to put up with certain people, and i handle it quite well until they really start to get on my nerves. I will let them live their life the way they wish, but they shouldn't be discriminating my religion because it's different than theirs. God bless!! Luv, Val

The first one fits me... I have respect for anyone unless they outright lose it by some action or nasty persona.

Number one. Everyone deserves respect and if I'm disrespected, there could be consequences.

My job is to tell you about Jesus. It's up to you to believe or not believe as you see fit.
