Belief is a personal choice, so I've decided not to believe in Christians. The idea of a Bible being accepted as the truth by a human being who has the same capabilities for rational understanding as I do, is just too unlikely to be possible.

The Hill Cumorah in New York is the site of two major Book of Mormon battles which resulted in a combined body count of approximately 2,230,000 men, women and children.

Considering the archaeological gold mine this place must be, why dosen't the Church turn the site over to National Geographic to start some digging and recovery work on what must be the burial site of millions of bones and tons of primitive early American weaponry?

My brother is 18, and I just had a conversation with him in which he told me that "****ers" wanted to jump him and his friend. Then he and his friend showed the knife and baseball bat they had, to get the guys to go away. I said that this was just asking for more trouble down the road, and they should have NEVER done that. He said something about "what do they expect coming into white town". I'm disgusted. This is my own brother and we were not raised this way. He is NOT hard - our father is an attorney, and our mom is a teacher. With his language and attitude I'm afraid to bring home my black boyfriend for Christmas. His attitude and actions disgust me. I would NEVER use the N word. A couple questions:
1. How many of you have experienced situations similar to this (I think he's doing something to increase the likelihood that he'll have these kind of experiences)?
2. How can I get through to him about his ignorant white trash attitude?

One day, Rabi'a was seen running through the streets of Basra carrying a torch in one hand and a bucket of water in the other. When asked what she was doing, she said:

"I want to put out the fires of Hell, and burn down the rewards of Paradise. They block the way to God. I do not want to worship from fear of punishment or for the promise of reward, but simply for the love of God."

What do you think? Do rewards and punishments hinder us from loving God completely?

What reasons do you think make Halloween the best holiday? And don't give me any of that "XX is the best holiday, not Halloween" crap. The only reason people like Xmas better is because there are more presents! ^.^

Last week while officer "Rodney Johnson" of the Houston Police Department was being layed to rest and six high school girls were being molested by a dementend gunman , T.O. made the breaking news? First of all who gives a **** about "T.O."? And why did the liberial networks pick him over a real hero and innocent victims of a gunman to cover first as breaking news? I think the Dallas Cowboys wasted their money on this clown and he's T.O. as usual, whatda piece of ****!

If you think about Occam's razor,(which is a scientific theroy) that theroy completely disproves religion because maybe god was just created to answer all questions that are unanswerable, or at least satisfy our curioisities. (what I just said is the simplest explanation)

But on the other hand religion, if it is true (which i believe it is) would completely demolish Occam's razor.

I just wanted to know your thoughts because im going through a philoshpy puzzle right now.

P.S. This is not a yes or no question, if you answer it as one please state what you suppose we do with either science or religion, because, much like a country, a society divided against itself (Science being one half, Religion being the other) cannot stand.

I'm only 15! And yet i'm active about things like the enviroment. poverty, and politics. I set up a charity fund for the Pakistan Earthquake victims at my school a year ago, but it only yeilded 42 dollars. Can't people give a little more? I gave five dollars myself and if everyone else had, we would have earned thousands. I also wrote a letter to the school to see if we could start recycling bottles and cans that were going in the trash at the moment. It's been a month and I've gotten no response. The kids who don't care would probably keep throwing recyclables in the trash anyway. Bad stuff keeps happening. Hurricanes, tsunamis, epidemics, and rich stuck-up people who don't care a sh*t about it all. Should I just give up?

When it is easy to deduce from other sources that they are Muslims, why do they go to great extent to hide this especially when trying to interject Mohammad into a question that has little to do with him ? (Or Joseph Smith of the LDS for that matter)

One of my household employees is a devout Muslim, and I would like to know if it's widely practiced to give a monetary gift (similar to a Christmas bonus in Christian cultures) during Ramadan or on Eid. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
