When it is easy to deduce from other sources that they are Muslims, why do they go to great extent to hide this especially when trying to interject Mohammad into a question that has little to do with him ? (Or Joseph Smith of the LDS for that matter)

some people actually feel it is there duty to study up about current events including cultures/religion and history of them in order to better understand the world WE live in and how to seek peace and justice. Or just to be educated for the sake of knowlede(whata concept!) So if they state that it can be true that they have understanding w/o being a member of that group. AS always there are fakers in all forums-boys pretending to be girls etc. Weak wimps pretending to be bad boysetc.

Wow you're a little paranoid aren't you. Cuz obviously if can't take people at their word, you are probably locked up in your house, with your nice big gun, waiting for the next person to knock on your door to come rob you. Chill out a little. Maybe there are some people out there that know things outside of their own circle of direct experience and are attempting to share that knowledge and answer questions. What a concept eh? Being that we are on Yahoo Answers.

There r some very learned Muslims here and I have never ever seen them saying stupid things like this. I have yet to see them lie.

If u can't take people at their word, why should I take u at ur word

Do they? I don't think so. I'm ok with muslims, but when I grow up, guess what I'm going to be? a Missionary to the middle east! Then I will get killed and my followers around the world will mourn me and my death will drive people to provide religious freedom and peace! lol. I'll just keep dreaming.

it is likely that that person is not a Muslim b/ i dont know any Muslims that would deny their faith. is it possible that this is just a person that is knowledgable about Islam? Islam has many scholars that are non-Muslims for example John L. Esposito

first of all u cant b sure if they are muslims or not. There are ppl who actually seek knowledege. second, believe it or not, muslims sometimes are highly alienated in the US because ppl treat them so badly. so they dont wana let others no so they are not treated differently

I've never noticed that happening. Are you sure they are Muslims? Maybe they are just Islamic sympathizers.

Because their religion has made them feel embarrassed at times and many people dont prefer Muslims..so they say like that so that they get opportunities

It is very possible that someone could be knowledgable about Islam and not be a Muslim!
