Yes we should stop caring about this rock we live on! What did it ever do for us?? I'd be just fine without it! Why should we give a whole day to the earth? One minute is much too long for me.

WHY SHOULD WE GET RID OF IT??

We?... Got a mouse in your pocket? Let's consider this... Say, "we" stopped Earth Day. No one went out to plant a tree or to pick up the garbage on the side of the roads. No one cleaned the cans and bottles off the side of a lakeshore or took the old tires out of a river that someone threw in there. Let's say everybody decided one day that this Earth wasn't worth caring about and decided it was better to look at the garbage rather than to clean it up.
What do you think it would look like ??
Here's something you should know... "we" and by "we" I mean me and my millions of other earth people, believe that Earth Day is a day you should recognize.
If you can't help keep "our" planet clean, then "Get off Our Planet".
Not only one day should be recognized as Earth Day.... "Everyday should be Earth Day".

It's a nice day to be a little more thoughtful than usual. I spent this past Earth Day working the community garden at our local UU and helping to pick up some litter on the road...not a huge amount of extra effort on my part, but if everyone did just as much on Earth Day it would make quite a bit of a difference!

I agree, it's a waste of time. How can there be cards for Earth Day? Aren't trees cut down to print those cards?

Let's keep it!

It makes us aware of the world around us at least once a year. And even if we really should be thinking about the earth more than once a year, once is better than nothing.

It's a great representation of how we still respect the earth, something that is not often seen in today's society of Urban Life, hustle, and bustle.
