We have all grown up reading Archie comics but somehow, i feel they teach things like vanity, overspending, jealousy, two-timing, lying to parents, etc to kids....

He's going to destroy the whole world, killing all life, and then torture, for All Eternity, most the sentient beings on Earth. Is this something I should accept as Normal and Decent, or is God a psychopath that we should work to stop?

I remember vividly my parents going to a ranch style house where the people all seemed to be very close friends. My parents were new to their group, but had met these people recently. As my parents chatted away some adults guided me into a basement which was two storys high made of concrete and had a large pentagram drawn on the floor. Many people who were down there were dressed in robes and appeared to be praying while standing. I was placed in the middle of the pentagram when suddenly my parents came and picked me up and fled the house as the guests tried to convince them to stay. They were very frightened and I remember looking at the house as we drove away. What could this be about? This is not a joke. I am truely serious about this.

I was witnessing to the cab driver the other day, I really felt the Lord leading me to witness to him. It turns out that this person, his name is Shane was a really wonderfull person. Shane has never been a christian but his knowledge of the bible was great. I just dont get it. I have had similiar experiences in the past. even here on Yahoo answers it is the same. Where are people learning about the bible? Is there a bible school for unbelievers? Are they teaching bible classes in schools now so as to keep people the enemy to Christ? Whats the deal.

u gotta believe something-for me it was to believe the Jewish prophets and Moses

Moses said "Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Kippur/atonement) for sins." Leviticus 17vs11

Isaiah said "He will be exaulted, but first marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected, and lay down his life as an atonement for sins. All we like sheep have gone astray, and the Lord will make to light on him the iniquities of us all. He will die with the wicked and be burried with the rich. He will see his spiritual seed and prosper."
Why not believe Moses and Isaiah and come to faith in Messiah Jesus-i prayed and recieved Him as he asks us to do- Messiah im sorry for my sins, come into my heart, help me and be my friend.

If a person spends a better portion of their adult life in prison say from 18 and on for 30 years, do you think that it would be easier for a person to kick an addiction to drugs faster and easier than it would be for a person to never return to prison?

I only recently discovered Jainism and find it a very interesting philosophy or religion.

Jains are atheists who believe in an eternal universe and life cycles. They also promote non-violence, sharing with the less fortunate, compassion and other virtues that were incorporated into Christianity.

I'm not a Jain but it appears to be a very solid foundation for people who seek a religion but are tired of the continual bickering and fighting that accompanies all Bible based religions.

Some people have a hard time grasping what it would be like. I have heard some people say darkness but that is incorrect. Did you know that people born blind do not see darkness.. Sight does not exist for them. People born deaf probably do not hear nothing, hearing does not exist for them either.

The brain has very similar structures for sight, hearing, touch, taste. There have been experiments done where portions of the sensory data were replaced with other portions (Neurons normally used for hearing were placed in sight and it worked).

Here is what I think it is like:
Without these portions of the brain we would no longer experience such senses, even remember them. As with senses we can also lose our self-awareness. Once our brain ceases to function we no longer exist. There is nothing, not even the concept of nothing.

to clarify what I mean...

what if one day, there was some catostrophic event, and suddenly metaphysical and magical things suddently were manifested. I mean (hypothetically) demons and various things being physically there, some people able to make fireballs and whatnot, (yes, like in tv/movies)

active sorcery and such, both holy and unholy, and all sorts of that kinda thing out in the open, and undeniably real.

what would you do? how would you react? what if you found yourself having some form of "supernatural" ability that you might not have even belived in existing before, or would have declared as being evil, (and are not of such an inclination that you'd get it if it were evil)

just indulge the hypothetical what if here... "that could never really happen" is irrelevant. this is imaginary "what if".

I always know that my self confidence and self esteem is not very high. My negative energy outshines my positive energy and the problem is that people always thought i am super energetic and super positive as I possess a shiny outlook (liar look)....

For instance, i feel i can sing though not too well...when someone commented that I croak, I would instantly stop singing from that moment...and would not have the courage to sing again.. This also applies to other things...like a person I used to date said that i perspire alot... i felt so embarrassed and I guess once there is such a blockage, self confidence level is greatly reduced and from that moment onwards, everything starts to go wrong.. cos u become so tensed, so aware of the things around, and u become less cool and less urself... well, I lost my relationship like this.... my fault i guess.. Help! i dun want to ruin relationship again... I mean I thought this one would work out, until I lose my cool and it affects my work too...
