I usually didnt believe in those kinds of things but one event made me think differently:

I had sprained an ankle and had to use crutches for about a month. This pesky neighbor would talk about me and make sly remarks behind my back, and would casually laugh about me acting like she was laughing about something else. A couple days ago, i saw her and she has to wear crutches because she broke her leg! Go figure. maybe karma does exist............

What are your impressions on Karma?????

is this the only reason you believe?
Do you believe that there is a reason to serve the Lord greater than your own Salvation?

I am a Christian and do whats right because its right.I have no fear of the flames, in fact I welcome them 1Corinthians 3:11-15.

Hey I'm not perfect either, I will suffer MUCH loss. There is NO RIGHTEOUSNESS in myself.
The good I do is of GOD the bad I do is of myself...

back to the question...why do you serve GOD? Is it out of LOVE or...selfishness.

I'm looking for my brothers and sisters with this question.

God bless you all believers and nonbelievers
according to your faith.

What exactly are the major differences between being Catholic and being Presbyterian? I know that the Catholic religion is more strict and that Presbyterians believe in pre-destination, but what else exactly?

I was raised and baptised Catholic, but I'm 14 now and I just didn't like my church and I've been going to non-Catholic christian camps and it just makes a lot more sense to me and I actually understand the bible and everything more now. I really want to be confirmed as Presbyterian, but I was baptised Catholic so would this be appropriate? I really want to take the class but would it be okay?

I would really love honest, gentle, REAL answers.
Thanks and God Bless.

I know it's wrong, but I fell in love with a missionary. After spending six months holding hands and resisting, we began kissing. In a matter of weeks the mission president found out and gave him the option of going home and being disfellowshiped or promising not to speak to me, see me, or think of me until he is transferred... He loved and wanted to marry me, but now I have no idea if he thinks I'm just a huge sinful mistake... What the heck?

Because you believed in the word of the Lord, because you were faithful to the end under the cross where your only son died for me.
Because you watch over me and mine I'm not afraid of the the glory that surrounds you because I know you have suffered as I have, you have cried and you are redeemed by your son as I am. You are all sweetness and mildness for all who call on you, glory of the human race, sweet mother of God.

When that happens I wanted to know what occurs first.
Will it be the elimination of womens rights?
Will it be the jailing or extermination of the homosexuals??
Will it be the myriad of laws required to limit free speech as needed to fit with fundamentalist principles?

In other words what parts of our freedom will be sacrificed first under a Christian Theocracy,I'm aware that the rights taken away will be numerous but I just want to know what parts of our Constitution will be sacrificed first.

Since I'm about to start going out with Big Bird, I really need to evaluate my options. The patch won't stick to my felt skin, so I'm assuming it will be either the pill or condoms. How does the modern church view birth control? I think it used to be a no-no.

Oh, and no, we're not married. It's just casual sex.

Need ideas for making him look bald besides buying a mask. We are going to paint his face greenish and put on alien sunglasses. We may end up spiking his hair & making it green too but you know, aliens ARE bald! Bonus if you can tell me how to make him bald & smooth or bald & wrinkly. Don't want to shave his head obviously.....

Ive noticed from the different questions and answers regarding race on here that some whites still have some ignorant views about my race. I wont go into details, but its still clear that there are still people out there that have some racist views about us. We arent militant. We dont hate you. We only want what your race wants: To see our children live free, peaceful lives and grow up better than us. Your race also has the advantage of having a greater chance of living the "American Dream."

Some blacks can be the same way too. I do agree with Bill Cosby when he said that we need to stop blaming the "white man" for our problems. The goverment may owe us, but we must be realistic about the situation. Reparations will most likely never happen. Life isnt fair. We must get used to it.

I get emails where fundamentalists are convinced they are victims, where people support more societal integration of christian fundametnalism, where the marginalization of science (evolution) and medical research (stem cells) are supported under the name of divine mandate. I see reproductive rights being severely compromised in many states. And it's extremely unsettling. It looks like we're becoming like the theocracies we're at odds with in the middle east. Does it cause concern for anyone else?
