Ive noticed from the different questions and answers regarding race on here that some whites still have some ignorant views about my race. I wont go into details, but its still clear that there are still people out there that have some racist views about us. We arent militant. We dont hate you. We only want what your race wants: To see our children live free, peaceful lives and grow up better than us. Your race also has the advantage of having a greater chance of living the "American Dream."

Some blacks can be the same way too. I do agree with Bill Cosby when he said that we need to stop blaming the "white man" for our problems. The goverment may owe us, but we must be realistic about the situation. Reparations will most likely never happen. Life isnt fair. We must get used to it.

I think that people, no matter what race, have a propensity for not remembering that we see things from our own purviews. We forget that while there are certainly people who fit our descriptions when it comes to race, there are just as many who don't. Racism is ignorant, pure and simple and it hurts the racist just as much as his/her victims, although it would take someone willing to dig below the surface to understand this.

I think Bill Cosby should have considered what he said more carefully. Using the royal "we" is dangerous - it insults the very people you need to reach. When he denigrated the names that some blacks give to their children I wonder if he thought about the number of Tenisha's and DeShawn's who are attending college? How are they supposed to feel?

Yes, there are blacks who blame white people for their problems and that of course is often nothing more than a tired and lame excuse for not pushing oneself to succeed or aspire to greater heights. However there are those of us who, as you say, want the same things many whites want and have come to expect. We are "invisible" however because television, film and newspapers continue to perpetuate stereotypes and continue to focus on the extreme ends of the spectrum: either the uneducated and ignorant, or the rich and famous blacks. The focus isnt and hasn't been on the black middle class which is where whites and other races could find some commonalities.

Not all, but alot of white people probably get influenced by stereotypical images of other races, like black men or woman sell crack to feed their babies, or maybe that rapper that glorifies killing someone because they disrespected them...images like that are constantly played over and over again in the media. I think that maybe the reactions white people get from black people that would make them believe that black people hate them are probably just a defensive front that people must put on. I could never imagine what it would be like to have others degrade me or ignore me just because of my color, and I don't blame black people for being sick of trying to be ok with it. Or who knows, maybe I am just an ignorant white girl too...

I agree with you. Every race has good & bad. I am white & I have friends who are so dumb when it comes to other races I am Ashamed to be seen with them . One of my white friends hates all blacks just because one beat him out of a job (I gave the young black man the job because he was better suitted for it ) Another of my white friends hates anyone who is not pure white. I am made up of 5 different bloods(English, French Canadian,Irish,Scotch& Native American). He puts up with me because I own the company he works for. One of my black friends hates Hispanics because he believes thay get better breaks in life because who they are.So ALL races have problems getting along , not just one race.Thank you for this very intellegent question.I have not seen many lately.

I really don't think people are ever really going to be satisfied with each other.. There is always going to be someone that was raised racist ... or they just decide to be that way--just because..
I wish everyone one would just chill and accept that there are different people with different beliefs..all i ask is some respect and not to prejudge someone based on color or Religion

because the declining "Black community" fears the reality. that they are conforming to a stereotypical nature en masse. those few who do no longer adjust to a stereotypical function are ostracized. I easily have confronted this myself ("Why you act so white!? Why you gotta be utilizing them large words?"), and that i ought to assert, I mission for the way ahead for my race. What human beings prefer to do is perform as sole instruments. human being products of an complete it really is the Human race. we are all an same species. Why then do we divide ourselves? consider this. human beings are generalized in accordance to stereotypes utilized to race. stated races then adjust to stated stereotypes, believing that to be their authentic nature. those few sensible those who opt for to act as persons, truly than undertake the stereotyped behavioral kinds of others of an same race are ridiculed with the help of their friends for being "a pocho", or "a banana", or "a wannabe cracker" or any form of issues. Our human beings are not the only responsible social gathering both. This international has been overtaken by skill of lack of understanding, and the only treatment is enlightenment. Enlightenment that finally ends up in unity. regrettably, that unity would not in any respect be a reality, as long as there is lack of understanding. So, my chum, you aren't any more on my own in noticing the topic matters present day in our "Black community". in spite of the indisputable fact that the authentic question is, do you spot the topic matters in our Human community? the position human beings adjust to baseline attitudes and behaviors? imagine deeply about the international you stay in. EDIT: you could thumb down the honest solutions all you opt for. the reality is the reality. only because you worry it, it would not make it any a lot less suited. Tiff and Baxter were spot-on of their prognosis, and that i implore rookies to this question to expose their comments. Lee, also, has some good factors which will be considered. in spite of the indisputable fact that, human beings receives nowhere by skill of blaming others at the same time as there are sparkling and present day faults of their own cultural crew. change into the replace you opt for to work out on your society. as long as this international is plagued by skill of lack of understanding and those who have self belief in racial inequality, the perfect component you may want to do is act in choose of your own income truly than adjust to a set mentality. One step at a time. With that body of recommendations, there's a significantly better probability at convalescing the circumstances of this international.
