I'm with you. Even though the rabid right in Christianity is not all Christians (much less all Americans) they exert a powerful, vocal, and growing lobby in the government. They have a clear agenda and lots of money. We should be afraid of them because they are fundamentally non democratic.

No. you're making an incorrect assumption that government will compel faith. that may no longer so. enable's think of this one by. a million.) Fundamentalists will adhere to the Bible. What does the Bible say approximately submission to government? (enable quite everyone be concern to the governing government, for there is not any authority different than that which God has commonly used - Romans 13:a million) 2.) The governing record of america is america shape. What does the shape say approximately faith? (Congress shall make no regulation respecting a company of religion, or prohibiting the unfastened exercising thereof; or abridging the liberty of speech, or of the clicking; or the marvelous of the human beings peaceably to hold mutually, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. - us of a shape, First modification) Even interior the loopy Bush administration of the 2000's, america did no longer ban Islam, despite the fact that fundamentalist Muslims orchestrated the 9/11 attack. you do no longer could desire to agonize approximately "fundies" forcing their "homophobic, warmongering, narrow minded time table" on the entire US popluation. dont worry it'll all be over soon, unless we can awaken
In 1871, Giuseppe Mazzini issued a remarkable letter in which he graphically outlined plans for 3 world wars. Until recently this letter was on display at the British Museum Library in London. Pike aided in making this plan known in the US. It was a blue-print for three wars. Called the Mazzini-Pike Plan, its ultimate goal was eventual world domination. The letter outlined three relatively simple strategies. It called for communism, fascism, and the struggle for the Mid-East to foment three global wars and at least two major revolutions. WW1 was to destroy the Czarist government of Russia, and replace it with militant atheism. WW2 would begin by manipulating Great Britain and Germany to achieve a global war, which was done almost single handedly by Adolf Hitler. WW3 called for the firing up of the controversy between the Israeli and Moslem world. They hoped that the “Zionists” and the Moslems would destroy one another, and bring the rest of the world into a final conflict. The “Great Battle” would usher in a complete social, political, and economic chaos. To fill the void created by the “great battle” would come a world government, headed by the illuminati. In Illuminati doctrine Lucifer is GOD and Satanism is heresy…

That is the principle reason why I have become a regular here. This is one of the ways that I am resisting the trend toward theocracy. I'm here both to learn more about the trend, by seeing what some real Christians think, and to try to counter the trend by some very grass roots activism.

It's going to be a lot worse than that. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values, under cover of front organizations like the Christian Coalition, the American Family Association and the Promise Keepers. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. See: JESUS CAMP http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

I too am very concerned. The real problem is that the xtians en masse are falling for it hook, line and sinker....never realizing that their freedoms are in jeopardy too. These fundaMENTALs have seized control and are daily destroying the constitution with blind permission and submission from the masses. The only brand that will be okay is the fundaMENTAL brand.
As always...DuckPhup says it best.

I'll rest easier when Bush is out of office. We need a different sort of lunacy running the show for about four years. The only way to offset conservative Republican lunacy is to let the Democrats run the show for four years.
