In St. John chapter 1, the scriptures say, And the Word was. Here people acknowledge that the Word is Christ but why is the word "word" used.

I have recently become very depressed because i found out that i have a meloncholic temperament. Meloncholics are said to be depressed, anxious, neurotic, homely, sickly, feeble and cowardly. I hate being labled by those words. I want so much to be a powerful choleric or a happy sanguine. I have been told that i have a moderate amount of choleric and a tiny bit of sanguine in me. Can someone please tell me how i can harness those powers so they are stronger then the meloncholy one. I don't want to go through life being a depressed, ugly, wimpy loser. I am really beginning to dislike myself because im meloncholic.

I’ve only been using Yahoo answers for a couple of days now but one thing I’ve noticed is that in matters of religious debate the Christian point of view is almost always very poorly represented. As an Agnostic in a otherwise Christian family I’ve had my share of religious discussions and I know that the Christian viewpoint can be articulated far better than what I’ve seen in these pages. Sometimes I feel like jumping in on the Pro-Christian side just to be fair. Lets hear from thoughtful Christians. Don’t make me come over there.

There is always an Atheist who is talking about why there could not be any mention of God in schools...Right? Then if an Atheist claims to not believe in any deity then Atheists have no religon. Then Atheism is not a religon and should be ignored by everyone else in the world. But if Atheism is a religon then it should be seperated from "State". It goes both ways. Atheist(no religon)=no efect...Atheist (religon)=seperation. No way out right? The truth is Atheism is a religon about no religon, which makes it a religon. A religon is a "belief" therefore if you "believe" that there is no deity then that is your religon. That does not always make sense because if I belived that beating people will take me to Heaven that would be my "belief" or religon. that would not make sense as well...right???Try to figure something out. Obviously I am Christian and in no way and Atheist. So go ahead and answer the question.

Christianity may have 30% share but practising Christians are not even 10%.

Islam with 19% and Hinduism with 14% are other two major religions...and practising Hindus and practising Muslims are most probably greater than practising Christians which we can see from Hindu festival of Kumbha mela where 70 MILLION HINDUS gather at one place from around the world and Islamic Hajj festival where 2.5 MILLION MUSLIMS gather at one place from around the world ...Hindu temples and Mosques are always crowded. On the other hand Christian churchs are almost empty.

For the sake of argument I'll say that there is an afterlife. When you arrive there you're angrily confronted by a being that is furious that you believed in things that weren't even remotely true. Whoops! Goodbye Jesus, goodbye Allah, goodbye Buddha, goodbye deities of all the other religions that were smug in their beliefs. I'm not saying this will happen but it could be embarrassing for some of us at the Pearly Gates!

LDS do you really believe these ERRORS. the bible does NOT teach these things

GOD THE FATHER: Joseph Smith explained, "I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. He was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ Himself did" (LDS History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 305).

Jesus, according to Milton Hunter of the LDS First Council of the Seventy, is the brother of Lucifer. "The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind" (The Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15).

Christians celebrate Thanksgiving every year with a prayer and thank The Native Americans for saving their lives as offspring from The Pilgrims that were saved. Did God Deliver The Indian to them? NO! But when the Indian refused to accept Christianity they were considered SAVAGES-and were placed onto Reservations-WHAT A CHRISTIAN THING TO DO-and so now WE THE PEOPLE are in Iraq-We have accepted help from other nations-ARE they the next people to be placed on RESERVATIONS as we consider them savage? I believe it is time for an ELECTION in Iraq-I believe it is time for the people of Iraq to make a decision-I believe that our country can assist in one way and one way only-ALLOW THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ TO VOTE: DO YOU WANT THE US IN IRAQ! Yes or No! Simple-Place ballots all aroung the world & what do you think the outcome will be? BUT NO-Christains want their way of life preserved-Freedom of Religion is a RIGHT granted under The Constitution-SO WHO R U 2 say who Iraq worships hipocrit!GODOUT
