For the sake of argument I'll say that there is an afterlife. When you arrive there you're angrily confronted by a being that is furious that you believed in things that weren't even remotely true. Whoops! Goodbye Jesus, goodbye Allah, goodbye Buddha, goodbye deities of all the other religions that were smug in their beliefs. I'm not saying this will happen but it could be embarrassing for some of us at the Pearly Gates!

Interesting questions...

I guess my response would be along the lines of...

"Oops, sorry. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I really wish you had been a bit more clear."

So, I believe in a higher power.BFD.Outside of my beliefs, I'm still a good person, according to me.I treat my fellow human with a basic level of respect.Sometimes more respect to others who have earned it, but never less than that basic amount. So IF I do get to this place with Pearly Gates, and my deities aren't there and it was all one big cosmic gag, I really don't think it'll make a big difference.Worse case scenario, I come back and have to live this existence over again. And if there is a hell, I highly doubt I'll be headed there, regardless of what some mentally unstable individuals say.And if you look at ALL the major religions, the 1 thing they ALL have in common is a saying or commandment or whatever that is essentially saying "Don't be a weenie to your fellow human!!!"

Many of the specific details added to various religions by human interpretations are, by the definition of humans as fallible creatures, indeed, inaccurate. But there is a solid core of Spirituality that humanity developed by intuition, experience and the occasional stroke of a genius. Should humans have stuck to that, there would be no different religions, and no inaccuarcies. But the religions were seized by those in power, and they started "embroidering" on the genuine knowledge by adding details and commandments the aim of which was to manipulate the masses. Different acquired religions made the core of the spiritual belief culturally and politically conditioned.

These differences further led to disagreements and even wars on "religious grounds", it was claimed. The truth is, that no war was ever fought for a religion, but the true cause of the "religious" wars was, and remains influence, and political and economic intersts.

Now, if we were to take all religions, and clean them back up from all that had been added by those in power, we would get a solid basis to work on.

The true knowledge of the Spiritual Laws was available to the Cathars, but for this very reason they were annihilated in 1244. It had been prophecied that the Cathars will return to Earth at the beginning of the 21st Century to lead humanity into the Spiritual Age.

The Cathar knowledge of the Spiritual laws was channeled on the 20th February 2006 and is now available as "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website.

No it would not. there could be some factors that i'd desire to be incorrect on. I won't get into it yet I easily have consistently been an avid Bible reader. i began out to sort my doctrinal stance early and as time went on i stumbled on further and extra that i became maximum appropriate....only approximately. there became one subject that I had believed in a definite way for years. Then approximately 5 years in the past i became sitting here looking some thing up in my Bible and WHAMMO....there it became. data in God's be conscious that i became incorrect. Now how would desire to I easily have been incorrect in this. everybody else had believed it my way and that i became definitely particular i became real...unti I found that Scripture. That positioned a super ding in my doctrinal stance on a definite subject. So a number of our doctrinal ideals would desire to be incorrect yet our important concept gadget can't be incorrect. We have faith in God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost. We have faith in Jesus dying and resurrection. We have faith in Heaven and Hell. We have faith in existence after dying. We have faith that purely a Christian is going to Heaven. those are our important ideals and that they'd't be incorrect!

Well....then I guess we are lucky to be alive cuz we still ahve time for researching and coming to a conclusion which would be the right religion to follow.

We follow a religion cuz we were born to parents following it. But Allah says, learn more, research and as an adult with a broad mind, come to the best conclusion.

If I am wrong, I will have to deal with the consequences, or lack thereof.

Will the fact that I might be wrong make me stop believing now? No. That is called Faith.

If I'm wrong, no biggie.
If there's nothing after this life, then I'll be thankful that I had a wonderful, fulfilling life. I was peaceful, happy, and I had a terrific family to share it with.
But, what if I'm right?

Your question is a paradox. If there is a "being", then that being is "the Omnipotent" Call the being what you will, it is still the Supreme Being, GOD, Buddah, Allah, what ever name suits you. If there is a "being", then we all were right, as of course we are.

I appreciate your question, I really do. However, I do not believe there is any chance, ANY chance, that the bible is not the truth.
