All addictions get 'old', they dont Always satisfy you. drugs, alcohol, overeating, Whatever. do you agree with the bible on this, cuz the Bible said it first. 'Have no other god's before me.' and addictions or whatever you put first that is 'sinful' according to the bible, will not keep you happy. what do you think about that?

Ever since I gave up alcohol over a year I have had no sex drive at all. I don't find anyone sexually attractive and don't desire sex or to be in a relationship. I don't mastrubate anymore either.
I don't miss having a sex drive at all and dread it returning - how can I be sure that I will never get it back? If possible I would like to remain celibate forever more and never have the slightest desire to have a relationship. Is there anything I can do to permantly and totally destroy my sex drive once and for all?

In the US we have seen a lot of controversy over the teaching of evolution, sparked by the beliefs of fundementalist christians. Is this an issue in other countries with different religious beliefs? What do those of you with different religions think about this subject?

My soon to be 7 yr old son wants to have a party @ a bowling alley, how do I word the invitations so parent don't bring sibling along w/the ones we've invited. The party size is limited to a certain amount of kids...and after that you pay more per kid. I really don't want to pay extra for ones that aren't friends of my sons.

...has had the single greatest influence on modern culture within the last hundred years, and why?

I would go either Elvis (genesis of youth movement) or Hitler, for providing the catalyst that sparked one of the greatest cultural revolutions in history- not that there is a connection between these two mind you!

Who would you say? I'm not claiming to be any sort of expert, I'm just interesed!

It most certainly promotes freedom from self responsibility.
It encourages the sanctimonious, self loathing that so many seem to need to feel superior.
It promotes the delusion that it's followers are the only ones who know the real "truth".
It teaches that there are superior paths that will lead you to heaven and bliss, and inferior paths that lead only to deception and destruction neither of which is focused on a personal relationship with it's deity.
It uses dogma to replace having a code of personal ethics that applies to every interaction in every aspect of life.
It advocates being good now, and being rewarded later because it crushes out all of the natural impulses of life therefore creating a sense of martyrdom.

Consider reading this slowly so it sinks in before responding:

We all live on the Earth, which is a planet in a (now) 8-planet solar system.

The sun resides in the Milky Way galaxy. Our galaxy contains 200,000,000,000 - to - 400,000,000,000 (200 billion - to - 400 billion) stars, of which our sun is only one. (For comparison, there are approximately 6.5 billion people alive on the Earth, of which you are only one.)

Additionally, there are approximately 100,000,000,000 (100 billion) galaxies in the observeable universe. The average galaxy appears to contain between 10,000,000 and 1,000,000,000,000,000 (between 10 million and 1 trillion) stars.

What relevance would your faith have to the statistically likely population of a planet that circles one of those stars held in one of those galaxies in our observeable universe? What parts of the message (from your prophet, savior, sacred texts, etc.) would do you believe would matter to those other beings?

My hero is Jesus. Well, because he turned water into wine j/k. Seriously, because he was so tolerant and wise and had love for everybody. I wish I could be just like him. He's my inspiration, and I'm not even a holy rolling Christian. What's yours?

Believers: Are ignorant because they believe in something that they can't see, hear or touch and get their brains washed.
Non-Believers; Are ignorant because they simply don't believe in any superior being.
What do you think?

I'm talking: Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolf, Mummy...vintage creatures - not Sully. I think I could out-run Frankenstein so he's ruled out. I could load up on anti-vampire stuff to protect me from Dracula. I could throw a fire bomb on the Mummy. Even if the Werewolf only comes out on a full moon - I think he would freak me out the most!

Have you ever noticed that the only prayers that are "answered" are for things that had a chance of happening anyway? Seriously think about it for a minute. I Challenge you. If someone's canser goes away people say God answered their prayer, but it had a servival rate of 1 in 10 anyway. I'm sure people who have had an arm or leg amputated have prayed or been prayed for, but why doesn't their leg ever regrow? EVER! Not one? Please answer seriously. This is just one example, there are many more things that have a zero chance of happening and when they are prayed for they still never happen. The only so called "Miricles" are always things that had a statistical chance of happening anyway. Does this not logicaly show you that the bible is wrong and that god doesn't answer prayers.
