In the US we have seen a lot of controversy over the teaching of evolution, sparked by the beliefs of fundementalist christians. Is this an issue in other countries with different religious beliefs? What do those of you with different religions think about this subject?

Most of the educated countries of the world don't have a problem with the ToE. It's mostly a US idiocy...though it has made attempts to spread. England, Australia, and Sweden have all had trouble with tehse Creationist pests.

Nearly all religions have their own tales of the existence of the universe. Most of them have the sense to know that their tales are just that: Tales to cover things they don't really know for certain.

i am spiritualist
and to be honest there hasnt been too much in the way of talk about creation that i know of
we do believe in science and progression
and in my own opinion .. i accept that there is a creator , but evolution makes perfect sense for me also
it can go hand in hand
but why waste time thinking about how we got here ... when we should be thinking about where we are going
and i mean in this life as much as the next

Islam actually believes in creationism as well. As a Muslim, truth be told, I think it's a combination of creationsim and evolution. As a scientist, I believe in evolution (only because I have to think in that perspective in bio) and as a Muslim, I believe in creationism. It's weird cause now I think it's both.
