If we say, "We are without sin," we deceive ourselves, 3 and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing. If we say, "We have not sinned," we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

I happen to believe that their is a higher power, does that really hurt anything? Have I offended you by saying this? It seems like Atheists are always complaining about christian beliefs being forced on them....but look around this forum....look at how many atheist-tearing-down-christian questions are there! You calling me stupid for believing what I want (and I am certainly entitled to do so) is not going to make you any smarter....so why do it?

and he sent his son to die for our sins? You really know this?? Why is it still referred to as faith? If so, this is the scariest thing I have ever heard in my life. I had always thought it was a belief which I have abosulty no problem with. Belief and faith are used in religion for a reason.

It seems so. And that's strange becuase 75-80 years ago, alot of people never went to school. Nowadays, with things like the internet at most people's fingertips, you'd think we'd be a society of geniuses. But we're not. I can't believe that some of the people I've run into over the years haven't been killed by their stupidity. And they're the ones running things!!!

alongside evolution in science classes in schools in a country where church and state are supposed to be separate, then shouldn't every religions creation myth be taught in those schools?

I have a suspicion that the Christian Fundamentalists want only their version being taught.

Tomorrow is see you at the flag pole day where christians go to pray for the school, friends, teachers, etc. But is this really necessary? I was thinking about going but isn't it just shouting to people "hey look at me i'm a christian"? Are people just going to this just to get noticed by other people?
