Blindness and brainwashing can drive people mad--mad enough to make bad decisions and follow leaders who can not lead.

I don't believe christians desire war. The bible tells us as individuals to turn the other cheek. The bible also tells how God has set up the rulers and authorities and gives them the "sword" for a reason.
Take the police for instance. Do you support the idea of having police. Shouldn't we just forgive everyone who steal, rapes, murders, etc....
I think not. God has set up authority for a reason.
In the case of Iraq, I think there are many opinions on whether or not we should be there. Many Iraqis have welcomed us and are glad that we removed the man who used chemical weapons against his own people, invaded Kuwaiit, had rape and torture rooms for those who opposed him, etc......
Much of the opposition is not Iraqi citizens but foreign fighters that have come to fight in the jihad.
An interesting side note...I have a friend who recently came here from Iran as a student and he said much of the Iranian population does not support their government and hopes that the US will overthrow or help to overthrow it.

Saddam Hussein violated the UN resolutions for over 10 years. The war in Iraq is a multi-national event. Christians do not have a monopoly in the matter.

I don't think it's that we support war. I think GB Sr should have finished the job in the Gulf War. We might not be there now if he had.
I hate ware and killing and all. I think Christ took the death penalty upon Himself.
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - George Orwell
GW admitted that he and others were influenced by faulty CIA and other intelligence. He apologzied as well.
I wish that we could rescue the other extremist countries around the planet including Iran and the extremist countries throughout Africa.
Do I support violence and war? Um. No.
Do I support police activity? I do.

Because despite all the phoney concern for others, by people
who only care about themseles. Some people do care about others.
Noone wants war. But time and again history has shown that
we sit on our butts until the price is ten times higher.
I think we should be in African too. Not just bombing the hell out
of people. But not letting thugs who pretend to be rebels
of some cause, rob and kill their own people either.
No government that only stays in power by intimidating and killing
its own people should be in power. We should do all we can
on a dipolmatic level. And help to raise a countries ecomomic level.( Not sanctions). And where those will not stop senseless killing.
Capture or kill them.

You're right. Democracy and Islam are incompatible. We should just let violent genocidal dictators who try to overthrow other countries (Kuwait) rule with an iron fist, right? Now look at the Iraq war. Who's killing who? It's Sunni -vs- Shia, just like it has been for the last 1400 years. Which sect do YOU belong to?
P.S. This isn't Christian vs Muslim...this is big money vs backwards 3rd world country.

Its not so much that I support war, its that the bible tells me point blank to obey the laws of my country.
To go against what they are trying to accomplish would be going against my country and I will not do that.
There are many things my country has as laws that I do not support personally, abortion being one of them. However, my country is not telling me that I must have an abortion, so even though I do not agree with the fact that it is allowed, it is not going directly against Gods word, and that is that I must not abort an unborn child.
My country does have rules in place that we may as individuals refuse to enter the military. If we feel strongly that we should not fight or defend ourselves then the answer would simply be not to join the military. If a draft is put into place, there are still rules that an individual can be allowed to not join due to religious beliefs.

Saddam Hussein paid terrorist suicide bombers families for the sacrifice their children! Yikes! He supported Syria and Hezbollah to wage war against Israel and around the world.
The difference between Christianity is that we tell we're coming, and follow through. Fanatical Islam simply kills innocent civilians without reason for SHOCK value! They believe that we will convert to Islam out of fear! What a hoot! Silly.
Christianity does not promote the direct killing of innocent children, hospital patients, school children like Hezbollah, Fanatical Islam does.

I don't quite agree with Iraq myself, but Saddam did do things to others. He waged War with IRan and Kuwait. He killed those who opposed him and their brothers, fathers, sisters and sons.
We probabaly want Iraq for Oil and an Air base.
ISLAM seems to want us out of the way and that bothers me.
I know Muslims. I talk to them. I work with them and for them.
They are nice, but BIPOLAR. They are NICCCEEE and they HATTTEEE
There is no shade of gray with them.
That bothers me.
Would you want to live in a world of Islam with no bible, no God, only Allah!
I don't
Communism seems better to me than Iran and the Ayotollah!
Given a Choice I'd rather pledge allegience to Mao than Mohammad!
