Necessary? No. A good thing to do? Yeah! I'm a Junior in High School and definitely have gone every year... trust me, it's a pretty cool experience to have so many people gathered around the flagpole praying for the well-being of the community and world. In my school of about 3000 we get a pretty large circle and it's just a neat thing.

Perhaps. But the question should be what is the intention of your heart. If you want to be seen as a pious, wonderful Christian, you are going for the wrong reason. If you are going because you care about your school, the students, and the teachers, then go.

Yes, it is necessary and it is very unselfish to go because people are praying for others and real issues and they are not worried about what people will think about them because they are there for the right reasons therefore it is petty for someone to think otherwise.

it IS a great way to say "Hey, I'm a christian!" Jesus said that if you deny him before men he will deny you in front of his father and his angels but if you acknowledge him in front of men, he will acknowledge you in front of his father and his angels. we are called to be a part of the Great Commission! Mark 16:15! See you at the flagpole isn't just to get you noticed (although it's a great way) but it's also to stand up and pray, to say you're not ashamed of Christ. I think it's importnat. you should go. =)

Sure. There are some who go to get noticed- and some who go to gather in a place in fellowship and pray. Where two or more gather in his name, there he will be also..... So, what would be your reason for going or not for going?

Prayer is lost is some if not all schools. Why not go, go bless your friends, teachers, school give them hope. and yes, let them know you went. tell them that you prayed for them. you'll be bless in return, knowing you humbled yourself and showed you care.
