I'm a single mum with two beautiful kids (what can i say..they have beautiful mum hehe). Some cultures still cant accept the idea of being divorced. Divorced women are treated rudely (unlike divorced guys). I was in a relationship where his parents totally wasnt into his son marrying a single mum. At first, we tried to keep on telling each other that everything will be ok and these people will slowly accept me. But then, after so many months, they finally managed to convince him that leaving me is the best solution. I see no point of staying in the relationship, so i dumped him before he dumped me. Still heartbroken and frustrated though.

The bible instructs that those who wear clothing of mixed fabrics are sinners and should be punished in accordance with god's law. My neighbor, Mrs Hughes, recently bought a cotton/polyester blend sweater. I know I'm supposed to kill her but I really like her. Does god really require that I take her life?

Research has shown when individuals can hide behind the protection of a computer they treat each other with much less compassion and understanding. They tend to act more aggressively toward one another than they would if they were carrying on the discussion in person. This is evident in my observation of responses from many on this forum. Christians, Atheists, Muslims. No group is immune although I am pleased to say I tend to see more kind hearted responses from those of faith. But ANGRY Chrstians can be vicious. I even found myself doing the same thing when I first began monitroing this forum. I believe no real good comes from Christians and Atheists discussing (actually many times the correct word should be attacking each other) their differing views on God via computer.

Do any Christians out there know of a good CHRISTIANS web forum where people of like faith can discuss their faith and build one another up?

I'm not sure I want to continue participating on this forum.

I was pretty shocked by this!

Near where i work there is a river and there are stair cases on either side that lead down to park areas and then there is a walk bridge about 50 metres down. One of the stair cases was blocked off for maitenance so this meant that people walking from the bridge to the stair would reach them and then have to turn around.

Now this is an annoying situation by its self. BUT i was sitting having on the other side. I saw a person walking towards the stairs. They noticed they were closed when they reached them and turned around. This person passed 2 people on they're way back. Both times the person didnt mention that the stairs were closed!!! This happened about 20 different time!! I am shocked that not 1 person passed on the message that it was closed!! I know i would!!

Is anyone else annoyed by this or would they just ignore the people?

Also has any one else got any examples of how people just dont care any more. I am pretty disapointed by society!

Buddists have reincarnation, so they can look forward to doing it all again. (Most) theists can look forward to a blissful (or damned) afterlife for all eternity. Do atheists place more reverence on this mortal existance since they see it as a one shot deal?

When I asked my pastor for some advice on birth control, he told me that when I'm out with my boyfriend, to stick a dime between my knees and just hold it there. He guaranteed that I would not get pregnant this way.

When we discuss the age of the earth, fundies tell me
1 god day = 1000 man years

When I point out that therefore Jesus being dead 3 days = 3000 man years, fundies tell me
Jesus was a man at the time, so it's 3 man days

When I ask were Jesus was for the 3 days, people tell me that he went to hell, so he therefore WASN'T a man for those 3 days.



You guys just make this sh1t up as you go along, don't you?

I can't stand IT when tanned people tell me to go get a tan...to tell you the truth I hate tans...I love the porcelein doll skin...and I wouldn't get a tan even if they payed me because I want to keep my skin young...well I need a good comeback if someone calls me pale or asks me 'why are you so white like a ghost, go get a tan'

Before you jump all over me, let me explain. When a white person goes into a bad neighbor hood, they feel uncomfortable, right? Yes. But guess what? So do I! Some of those people can be vicious! So what I want to know is how do minorities discriminating acts affect you? No affirmative action answers, because I already know about this. Have you personally been turned down for a job because of the color of your skin? Have you had someone follow you around in a store because they think you will steal? Have you ever had anyone put nails in your tires because they hate that you are powerful and a color they don't like? I would love to hear life experiences, Please?

I gave up believing in God abput a year ago. Now I am happy but feel slightly empty, like somethings missing. I think its my lack of religion. I do believe there is a religion for me...I just need help finding it.

I highly repect all people and their views, judging only on individual personalities. I also respect all animals but am not a vegitarian. I believe the elements are key to a balanced happy life, but I do not believe in magic. I think the mind can do almost magical thing though. I beleive in life after death too. So, is there a religion ofr me?
