i am single and i want to go to Sydney only for the weekend, any ideas about where to go and how to spend good time there?

If it is only for a weekend.. consider it an observation trip(this first trip) for future trips.. that is.. go this weekend JUST to see what is there in Sydney.... Stay at a downtown hotel and from there, go out during your short time there all around JUST to see what you would want to see in more detail the next trip.. go to a couple of night spots and of course.. ask the hotel where they would recommend that you pop in and see

Why would you choose Sydney? Come to queensland instead the people are more friendly and laid back and besides we are known for housing south Aussies ..Victorians Tasmanians and the odd New South Welchmen!
