When we discuss the age of the earth, fundies tell me
1 god day = 1000 man years
When I point out that therefore Jesus being dead 3 days = 3000 man years, fundies tell me
Jesus was a man at the time, so it's 3 man days
When I ask were Jesus was for the 3 days, people tell me that he went to hell, so he therefore WASN'T a man for those 3 days.
You guys just make this sh1t up as you go along, don't you?

LOL! Don't get so caught up in the details that you miss the big picture. Jesus loves you and died for your sins. Read Acts 2:38.
the 1000 years thing is a metaphor to help us understand why it sometimes feels like God takes a long time to answer a prayer or to make a prophecy come to pass. It isn't a LITERAL equation like E=MC2, 1 man year = 1000 God days. While God was on earth in the form of a man named Jesus, He was crucified for our sins, died, and 3 HUMAN DAYS LATER he rose from the dead which signifies the fact that He is perfect and without sin and since HE died on our behalf for OUR sins, he went to hell and took the keys to Hell and the Grave away from death because He loved us so much that He sacraficed Himself so that WE would no longer have to die for our own sins. It wasn't His physical manifestation that went to hell - it was actually His spirit - the soul - that went and defeated death and the grave. That took 3 days which is why his body remained in the tomb for those 3 days and on the 3rd day he rose after winning the battle.

LOL (a hollow laugh). The bible is literal truth whenever that's convenient, and a metaphor whenever the literal truth is arrant nonsense.
Christians are like Lewis Carroll's Red Queen -- capable of believing half a dozen impossible things before breakfast, not to mention every other time of day.

Ok.. a couple of things. The story of creation, to many, can be read as a metaphor- they could be considered periods, not actual years. First the heavens, then earth... etc. Next, according to us,Jesus was fully man and fully God. It was according to his followers (men) that he was dead three days, so they are human days. And according to the fact that he was God, he could do whatever he wanted. So there.

Hmmmm... who said he stayed in Hell for 3 of God's days?...
He only stayed there long enough to get the keys and open the gates so He could resurrect... Perhaps he was only there for half a second of God's time.

Christianity is full of plot holes. Ask 100 different X-ians and you'd get 100 different answers about all that crap.
Seems like they would be able to get their story straight since it's allegedly the word of god and all.
