I was invited to a party by a good friend. The party was a casual event but catered. Another friend who is not as close wiht the friend having the party asked to come along with me a week after the RSVP had to be in. I asked the friend having the party if she could come. The first friend said ok. The second friend did not come to the party. She only called (left a message) and said she wouldn't be able to make it and didn't say why. When my friend asked me why the 2nd friend wasn't there I couldn't give a good answer.

Do you think the 2nd friend should apologize and/or give an explanation? to me? to the 1st friend?

I told the 2nd friend that they should because what they did was rude and disrespectful? Am I wrong?

Notice I didn't say "racist" although that sitll exists today, especially in minorities. My Mom thinks i'm a litte unusual because i'm black and most of my closest friends are white and that I date white girls. We're should celebrate the diversity within us, but yet and still we call each other racial names and are bunched up in that stereotypical group that all blacks and whites are one thing and that's not true. To me, it all depends on the way you carry yourself. You have the decision to act the way you act and do the things you do. But it's not just whites and blacks, it also affects other minorities especially Mexicans. I don't know how many times i've heard someone cap on a Mexican just because they can. I can't say I haven't done it, though. I can't really touch much on this topic because I come from a diverse family. I have white, black and other minorities in my family and i'm part white myself. but I do want to get my opinions and views across and see what you have to say.

I think they mean the same thing.

Personally, I believe God created, and he guided evolution through his mighty hand.

What is the difference between "creationism", and "intelligent design" If any?

Please tell me why is it that even so called second generation Lebanese born and brought up in Australia cannot speak English. I met a girl (Lebanese) on Yahoo, who claims that she was born in Australia, and is a 20 year old College student, but her English is pathatic!

I can understand people holding onto their culture and values, I am all for it, but don't you think one should at least try their very best to learn the language and some of the culture of the country they are born and ultimately living in.

Mind you, I am not an Australian, and not even of European heritage. But I think people should try to assimilate into the society they live in, well at least take the best from the culture they have moved into.

Anyway, the bottom line is.... could anyone, even any other Lebanese living in Australia care to answer my question. Why aren't the Lebanese trying harder to learn the language and culture of their host country?

I felt so bad for the little child. This woman was taking her frustations out on the child. Should we speak up if we feel a child is being treated harshly? Or is it none of our business?

You know all that stuff about the poor inheriting the earth, the eye of the needle and so forth. It sounds good, at least if you are poor. But JC left open the door of heaven to the rich who were prepared to sell everything they owned and give the money to the poor. But, the poor given the money will no longer be poor, and therefore they won't qualify. Moreover, god will give plenty of unmistakable signs when the waste is about to hit the fan, so the rich can sell out just before the final curtain drops. So the poor not only don't get everlasting life, they don't get much of a chance to spend the money. Sounds to me like the poor get shafted again.

When every single evil act or deed done to humans is by humans.

Instead of taking responsiblity for ones actions, it's easier to say "The Devil made him do it" That is the easy way out.

Similar to saying "God works in mysterious ways"

I work in a supermarket and I see this all the time. The parent is too worried about other things and allows their children to stand up in a shopping cart. I usually ask the child nicely to sit down because it is not safe. You would think the parents would have the brains to do that! Many children have been severely hurt when the cart gets bumped etc. and they fly out of the cart or are thrown backwards and smash themselves against the cart. I see this happen at other stores as well. I hate to see kids being hurt. I hope some parents see this post. One store I know has posted legal signs stating that they are not responsible for injuries to children. I think every store should do that.

iam a Christian and am adimately against the death penalty. Why would you want to deny someoen the ability to accept Christ as theri savior?? if you have a belief that God loves everyone, than wouldn't he love them just as much as he loves you...? We are all sinners aren't we, none greater than the next? Why is it so many Christians ( especially is government) openly support the death penalty? This is very disturbing to me, I would love to hear some intelligent rationale please!!
