There are about 50 different more..........haha
Southern Baptist are among newest, but still old. They were determined to evangelize the world by a certain date. They use to operate on 1% of income and evangelize with the other 99%.
ALL Baptists are very concerned over lost souls going to Hell and have no problem telling you. They are more sincere than you want to believe. They are missionary minded.
Does not matter if you join them or not, just that you are on your way to Heaven.
Differences are usually just by-laws and whether you belong to National Council of Churches.
Baptists believe Holy Bible is literally Word of G-d.
They believe in immersion baptism and that once you are saved you cannot lose your salvation.
You notice by Jude 1:3,4 that is NOT a license to sin.
Should not speak in tongues, drink liquor, smoke, dance with one not your husband/wife, or break Ten Commandments.
They do not tell you how to live, just live way G-d would have you to and not bring reproach upon our L-rd.

I have been in both types of church. It seems to me that the standard baptist is slower and boring. They sing and pray but at a pace that will put you to sleep. The Southern Baptist church I went to would sing louder and at a faster beat like going to a black church. A lot more fun an the pastor would really get into it like he was really a believer.
I know there has to be more to it but I did not study it only checked out. Everyone should check out a southern bapist church one time. You will enjoy your self even if you are an athiest like I am.

There are 30 to 40 different Baptists Churches, I believe 27 different denominations just in my area. Like "Primitive First Free Wheel Baptists" etc. Usually the difference is theological, like one doesn't believe in dancing and another may, or one may believe in the Trinity while another doesn't, small things like that.
Allot of the different churches spring up because of small infighting among family members (around here anyways) who then open a different denomination down the road of the same Church. Lol, I know this for a fact!

The difference is us southern baptists really get down in church. I mean our church is in the woods and it is one room. we make music with out hands and feet we praise the Lord without material things like drums. We get down with the get down I mean feet stompin, hand clappin good ole country fun!!! We gots old folks and younge folks. One specific deacon always sing the same song every Sunday. The Preacher starts off slow preaching and ENd up with a BANG!! The floors creak and the windows rattle. You should come sometimes.
