Man created god(s). If it was the other way around, all people would believe in the same one.

Man created God in an attempt to explain what mankind did not know. God and the stories in the earliest books of religions including the Old Testament and the Koran are myths. Myths are stories that explain the unknown. That is my personal opinion.

Man created god in an attempt to explain what mankind did not know? That's why so many people get mad about the things we have figured out about the natural universe, it hurts their ears to hear.

I hate answering questions with questions but here I go again..... did Jesus Christ really exist? I believe he did but do you? If you believe he did exist than who do you believe he was? The messenger (son) of God? Some crazy man who made things up and was so well at acting that people not only believed him but followed him? If man made up God to ease their mind about existence when there were no scientific answers........ then where does Jesus fit into this as an actual person? Even in gospels that were rejected by the Roman Catholic Church Jesus is a focal point. If they made it all up then wouldn't all the gospels fit into their little "made up story" ? And I just find it hard to believe that: A.) He never existed, or B.) He existed but was really good at convincing people of who he thought he was and at pretending to heal people and so forth. That's how I feel but I have alot to learn yet.......

Well well well.I would say that God created man.In His own image and likeness. If you say that man created God,how about those things that man could not explain millions of years ago that scientists are explaining to us now.Again the some things out there that are not man made but are so planned and fashioned in such a way that you can not help but believe that there is a maker or planner some where.check out the planetary bodies.

To explain our fear of the afterlife, probably.
As long as we have found fosils of early man, there has been compounding evidence of man (as early as two hundred thousand year old fosils of early man) of our fear of the afterlife.

Well, Jesus was around about two thousand years ago so our fear goes back further over 100X Time.
