You know all that stuff about the poor inheriting the earth, the eye of the needle and so forth. It sounds good, at least if you are poor. But JC left open the door of heaven to the rich who were prepared to sell everything they owned and give the money to the poor. But, the poor given the money will no longer be poor, and therefore they won't qualify. Moreover, god will give plenty of unmistakable signs when the waste is about to hit the fan, so the rich can sell out just before the final curtain drops. So the poor not only don't get everlasting life, they don't get much of a chance to spend the money. Sounds to me like the poor get shafted again.

Sorry, I forgot most Christians haven't read the bible
Luk 6:20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.

While on earth, Jesus lives with the social outcast to be with the poor, sick reject from society.

Let's walk down New York streets (if you dare) and check the pocket of any poor. Sure enough, we do not expect to find $100 bills. Can't we even fine few cents?

That is what the Lord talking about, when the woman gave 2 copper coin. That is the giving of the heart.

Salvation is free. We do not gain by giving. We gave after we are save, for we are appreciative of the Lord of God.

Perhaps you would like to read Romans, and also some epistles, not just Pauline epistle, but also Peters.

In todays context, if the Church reject the poor, it is not suprising. For we are all fallen creature, and not following the teaching of Jesus, just like the religion leaders of jesus days.

Sad, but true. Love of God is for all, rich or poor. It is for any colour.

Yes, he was. That you can say more surely than just about anything else attributed to the man.

The logic about the rich and poor doesn't work though. Things were unfair in his time as so few controlled so much, just as in some western countries (think of ones starting with the initial U) this gap is growing. The dispersion of wealth by those who choose too, will never be enough to make the poor "not poor", so it doesn't work out like you think it would. Most would choose to die and hold on to the wealth.

Ummmm I think the line is "The meek shall inherit the earth" which isn't the same as poor. Christ was concerned with the way he saw man treating man and taught that one should treat their fellow man as equals (rich or poor) .
