Notice I didn't say "racist" although that sitll exists today, especially in minorities. My Mom thinks i'm a litte unusual because i'm black and most of my closest friends are white and that I date white girls. We're should celebrate the diversity within us, but yet and still we call each other racial names and are bunched up in that stereotypical group that all blacks and whites are one thing and that's not true. To me, it all depends on the way you carry yourself. You have the decision to act the way you act and do the things you do. But it's not just whites and blacks, it also affects other minorities especially Mexicans. I don't know how many times i've heard someone cap on a Mexican just because they can. I can't say I haven't done it, though. I can't really touch much on this topic because I come from a diverse family. I have white, black and other minorities in my family and i'm part white myself. but I do want to get my opinions and views across and see what you have to say.

This is an age-old question, however the question should be put out there. Hopefully, there is a change in society's views of one another. God created us all to work together in unity no matter what color our skin was. So please if you have the urge to even crack a prejudice joke, don't do it. You really don't know how much your hurting that person.

You are on the path to enlightenment my young friend!!

I was in your same boat for a while, I ultimately stop listening to people an begun to follow my heart and what I knew was right.

From the top of the mountain, you will be able to see how foolish and petty society can be. It has always been a class struggle and a a battle for resources. those at the top will quickly turn it into a race war to take attention away from them, and make the lower classes fight for the table scraps...this is the sad truth about our society...

I only wish I knew the answer to this question. I just wish we could all view ourselves and each other as individuals. Everyone is unique and everyone has great value. Maybe someday the blinders will come off, but until then....I mourn what is being lost due to prejudice.

"Prejudice" is our way of defending ourselves. We pre-judge a situation and person until we get more information. It is not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a human thing.

It becomes a bad thing when information is at hand and we ignore it because of our fear or dislike. Then we carry on the prejudice without merit.

Good question. I think of that every day. I'm white...and can't understand why people insist on grouping themselves together by color. It is crazy I think.
We need to celebrate diversity by enjoying each others company..not by standing back and gawking at each other.

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

So were different colours
And were different creeds
And different people
Have different needs
Its obvious you hate me
Though Ive done nothing wrong
Ive never even met you
So what could I have done
I cant understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
Help me understand
Help me understand

Now youre punching
And youre kicking
And youre shouting at me
And Im relying on your common decency
So far it hasnt surfaced
But Im sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist (head to your fists)
I cant understand what makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

I cant understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand
I cant understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand
I cant understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
I cant understand (people are people)
What makes a man (why should it be)
Hate another man
Help me understand...
