Who Created Evil?

The university professor challenged his students with this question: Did God create everything that exists?" A student bravely replied "Yes, he did!" God created everything? the professor asked. "Yes sir," the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil."

The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?" Of course”, replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?" The
professor replied "Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider as cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body, or matter, have or transmit energy. Absolute zero ( 460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat. Cold does not
exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.

The student continued. "Professor, does darkness exist?" The professor responded, “Of course it does”. The student replied, “Once again you are wrong, sir. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors, and study the various wavelengths or each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn”t this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present.

Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir, does evil exist?" Now uncertain the professor responded, “Of course, as I have already said. We see it every day. It is the daily example of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil”. To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God’s love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.” The professor sat down.

The young man's name was reported to be Albert Einstein.

So this would be a competition where Catholics, Bapitsts, Episcopalians, Mormons, Lutherans.... etc would compete for supremecy.

It's sort of like the Special Olympics but without the athleticism.

What sort of events should they compete in?
Who would have the edge in a given event?

Not One by name!
I enquired: "According to you, are there not hundreds of prophecies regarding the coming of Jesus in the Old Testament." The dominee interjected: "Not hundreds, but thousands!" I said, "I am not going to dispute the 'thousand and one' prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the coming of Jesus Christ, because the whole Muslim-world has already accepted him without the testimony of any Biblical prophecy. We Muslims have accepted the de facto Jesus on the authority of Muhummed alone, and there are in the world today no less than 900,000,0001 followers of Muhummed who love, respect and revere this great Messenger of God -Jesus Christ- without having the Christians to convince them by means of their Biblical dialectics. Out of the 'thousands' of prophecies referred to, can you please give me just one single prophecy where Jesus is mentioned by name? The term 'Messiah', translated as 'Christ', is not a name but a title.

I want to learn Italian. I can't get to lessons, but what is the best way to teach yourself. I may go to Italy in the future, but i want to learn the language myself first. Has anyone actually taught themselves a language? Is it possible to get really good by yourself? Thanks.

Suppose a man and woman are equally intoxicated and have sex. Assume neither of them would have had sex if they were sober, but both of them were conscious during the act. Feminists typically say that this means the man raped the woman, but didn't the man and women both do exactly the same thing? If the woman can't consent because she's drunk, the man can't either. So it seems to me. either no one was raped, or the man and the woman both raped each other. Personally I'd go with the former. What do the rest of you think?

I am just so sad all of a sudden. I always thought things happened for a reason and stuff....but then I watch the news and it makes me want to just to cry....I don't feel safe anymore....I always knew that God was watching me and how do I know [when there's so many people in the world] that he cares about ME?

I'm so scared about death, it friggin scares me out of my mind! I don't want to think of myself as just some meaningless particle or something, that just depresses me so much!

I feel like we're all meaningless and we don't even matter....and that we're JUST part of the universe, and even though we're the highest evolved, we're really just nothing anyway. This makes me so sad even more because I know some people who just had to bury 5 BEST FRIENDS who died and its like, we'll never see them again? Nothing matters?

I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm going crazy. I feel so unstable and sort of sick...just someone help somehow?

ok.here's my question.i recently joined a new college & there's this guy.he's absolutely my type:smart, friendly & cute, but he has been dating this girl for abt 10 months now(who i know as well.she's a wonderful person too) & i seem to have a thing for this guy. i can see that he's devoted to his gf.but sometimes during class when his gf is not around,i catch him staring & smiling ,& whenever he laughs,he looks towrds me.apart from that,he gives me his full attention while he's talking with me.the reason i like him is that we have a lot in common.he's interested in forensic psychology just like me,is very outgoing & social & is very smart too.

so,my question is,is he just being nice (to me,the new kid)?or does he have a slight thing for me?i really don't want to be a relationship breaker though because his gf is really nice to me too.

thanks for taking the time to read this & thank you for all the answers too!
