Jesus could never have had such an impact on history, society, culture, etc., If He were not exactly who He said He was! He fulfilled EVERY ONE of the prophieces about the coming Messiah. This would be impossible to do by intent or chance. He is Lord or nothing at all.

there is no way that Jesus could be mistaken for simply being "a wise individual". He claimed to be the Son of God (matt.14:61-62). So he was either the Son of God here to die for the sins of men or he was insane. i choose to believe that he was who he said he was

How many cults want to reject who Jesus said He was, wow, if I had a dollar for every faith that takes a swing at Jesus. Why do so many have it in for Jesus, if he was just a wise man then why is the world all tied up in knots about him 2000 years later, does mother Teresa have people all tied up and bent out of shape?

I am a non-believer and well, I dare to trust those historicians who claim that "Jesus" lived then died about 20 centuries ago.
Assuming that he really existed, I do believe he was a wise smart man who knew how to transmit concepts to people who couldn't even read a word. Very human.

Jesus was exactly like the Buddha - a man who had a deep enlightenment experience that showed he was not this individual body but one with god ('god' can be replaced with a less controversial term if it's bothersome). He then told people the good news - but people don't want to hear about unconditional love and, especially, about non-individuality. So ... they changed his message (like we do now) into one that supports the self concept that appeals to individuality (magic, striving to get into heaven, a judgemental god that rewards and punishes, magical miracles are performed instead of the stories being seen as symbolic, Jesus is made into a messianic figure that is the only and literal son of a deity, etc.). Note that the 4 gospels were just the most popular interpretations of Jesus' message. The Nag Hammadhi gospels make no mention of miracles and are very buddhist-like in its presentation of Jesus. This experience is open to ALL of us -- read '3 Pillars of Zen' for some good info on this. I'm ot tryinig tp push zen -- it's just that that book is the only one that has snippets of real enlightenment experiences; for a christian perspective on enlightenment, I'm told that reading about Meister Eckhart and St John of the Cross are good.

Matthew 14:31-33
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? and when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshiped him, saying Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

He was with God in Spirit fully, so He had the wisdom of God. He was the only one who truly knew God and knew what He wanted or expected from us. I believe He was very wise.
