While I agree that the Native American society was all but destroyed when the first Europeans colonized the US, does that entitle their descendents to special treatment? If Native Americans live in non-segregated towns, work in non-segregated jobs, go to public schools, and basically live the same way as anyone else, should they be allowed, for example, to open casinos in areas where gambling is illegal? How long will things that happened centuries ago be used to gain special priviledges? What do you think?

A man can be a hero if he is a scientist, or a soldier, or a drug addict, or a disc jockey, or a crummy mediocre politician. A man can be a hero because he suffers and despairs; or because he thinks logically and analytically; or because he is "sensitive;" or because he is cruel. Wealth establishes a man as a hero, and so does poverty. Virtually any circumstance in a man's life will make him a hero to some group of people and has a mythic rendering in the culture—in literature, art, theater, or the daily newspapers.
This Andrea Dworkin quote is 100 percent correct.
A lot of evil men are looked at as heros by many people but if a woman has success she is looked at as ugly or a *****.

I am asking about the right vocabulary for the following situation. When I am driving a car in the street, suddenly another car is trying to overtake me. But when that car is beside me, it comes nearer my car so that the distance between that car and my car is closer. What do you say for this situation? Is that car 'cornering' mine? What word should I use?

Every waiter (even the Mexican and black ones) cringe when they get a table of Mexicans....they run you around and they tip HORRIBLY! Don't tell me because they are poor, b/c they always spend more on their bills than any other race does...between bar drinks, appetizers and the most expensive entrees?! I'm not talking about the "fresh from the river ones" (they will actually tip better most of the time, go figure)...I'm speaking of the Americanized ones---they are so ungrateful!! If any of you happend to be reading this, the tipping percentage is 15-20% of the bill--and waiters make $2.13/hr, just so you know. Is it because you can't do math, or do you just not care?

PS--I started waiting tables as a very non-judgemental person, and after years of doing this, I have come to some conclusions about certain types of people--so sue me, I have eyes and a brain and the ability to reason!

As I was waiting for the bus, a creepy looking guy (maybe in his 40's) came up to me and tried making small talk with me, I showed him that I wasn't interested and ignored him and climbed into the bus when it arrived. When I got off the man got off with me and started talking to me. He said "I would just like to talk". He was extremely sketchy looking and I told him I didn't want to speak to him in this very bitchy/repulsed tone and walked home. I made sure he didn't follow me but I was still freaked out because he actually made such an effort to talk to me. It was broad daylight but I'm still creeped out by the whole thing....I'm 20 btw

Some people have claimed to have seen the afterlife and verify concepts like reincarnation. Others see a hellish reality. And yet some see nothing at all. If you are a Christian, Atheist, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, etc, do you think this will influence how they experience the afterlife?

There is a series of books entitled, "Conversations With God", which are supposedly real dialogue between God and the author. Is it all real or made up? If it is real, why would God choose to communicate exclusively with the author as opposed to choosing someone else?

Is it because they think heaven is some kind of Abbey full of repulsive
monks babbling? Or because they deny life--hypocratically? Or do they think God must restrict physical pleasure in heaven or otherwise
he will contradict himself. It doesn't also make sense to me--why you think the pleasure of flesh is something bad??? It's Christian doctrine that FLESH implies something bad--not a Muslim(or even Jewish) one. That is one of the reason why
Christians are encouraged to be eunuchs and they are encouraged not to marry. In Heaven a Muslim will have both physical and spiritual pleasures. The highest of those pleasures will be infact spiritual--that is--they will see God. Sin doesn't exist in heaven. And we don't equate sin with flesh--unlike you. According to Islamic Theology we will be resurrected with our physical body and will go to heaven and hell with that. Women won't get 77 virgin guys. They will be satisfied with one guy--her former husband(incase she had several husbands--God will decide one of them--probably the most pious one) or incase
she is unmarried--God will get her married in heaven with a guy.
God knows best.
