Biblical scholars propose the idea that Adam and Eve had other children that didn't play a role, so they weren't mentioned in the Bible. I mean to believe that before contraception that a couple lived 900 years and only had three children (I think, Abel, Cain, and Seth, I might be wrong) is absurd.

However, if you don't accept Cain's other siblings, then I guess God wanted to make sure he didn't forget Cain.

Adam and Eve had lots of children and they lived for several hundred years. What makes you think that some of their children hadn't left home long before the incident between Cain and Abel ever took place.

fred
Now, we find out that the first marking of a human being started in Genesis 4:15. God marked Cain. That's where the first mark of the beast was ever put on, was put on Cain; he is the beginning of it. Now, you say, "Cain having the mark of the beast?" All right, let's notice.
Now, he said, "Thy seed shall bruise the serpent's head, and his head shall bruise thy heel." Watch the lineage of Cain. As Cain come down, become scientist, smart men, great men, on down like that. Now, we find out that because that Cain listened to the enemy, then what happened? Cain by taking on this evil, took the first mark. God marked him. But you remember, as soon as He marked him, he went out from the Presence of God. Notice, he went out from the Presence of God when he was marked, went to the land of Nod and got him a wife. But Cain, with the mark of the beast on him, went out and got him a wife from the land of Nod, and Seth took God's choice. Abel died, and Seth raised to take his place, was a sign of resurrection. And they both was represented in the first two sons, both Cain and Abel. That's the way the true church; it stayed in the Presence of God. You seal yourself out of the Kingdom: mark of the beast. Just like Cain at the beginning, so will it be at the end. And will be marked away from the Presence of God and be a Baptist, Presbyterian, or a Pentecostal, by denomination only, the rest of their days. If you're of Christ you're sealed with the Holy Ghost. Cain went out, the Bible said, from the garden of Eden, from the gates of the garden, east of Eden. What a thing, what a tremendous thing, that Cain, because of jealousy, and because of not willing to be reconciled to God by the same appropriated way that his brother came. God could not bless Seth until He separated him from Cain. There's your mark of identification.

Well, if you read the Bible, you will discover that there were other people at that time. Other tribes. There is no explanation for them, though.
