I see many people pray to get out of financial hardship or similar problems that would be better solved using a more realistic approach. Does praying give these people a false sense of hope and hinder them from actually solving their problems?

I mean why can't you be proud of your race? I've seen a lot of people too using the name of "black proud" or "mexican proud" too...and i don't get mad of it!

I'm a truck driver and almost got hit again , every morning on the L.A. freeways and city streets I witness you ladies causing accidents and near accidents because you are being distracted while driving your cars, I catch you at least a hundred times more often than us men that are being being distracted, most of you ladies I have seen have a cell phone in one hand pushed against your ear yackking away with your girlfriends and at the same time in the other hand eating a quadriple egg Mc muffin while sterring your car with your knee, I have seen you putting on makeup and even blow drying your hair in the rear view mirror while driving the freeway at 85 miles an hour, I have seen you dressing and even changing your bras while weaving all over the road, ladies stop it...your "driving" up all our insurance rates with your reckless behavior, what can be done about this problem it "drives" me crazy! Am I the only one that notices this problem?

What requirements must I meet to marry other people? That is, for other people to get merried under my supervision. Do I need to be a religious official (minister, rabbi, etc?) or can I get a governmental permit?

Just curious to see what people think...

Is it enough for someone who commits a sin to be genuinly, and sincerely, sorry that they did? Is it even a little compensation that someone does a sin, but reluctantly, and feels really bad for it afterwards?

Salaam,

I am Muslim .... have a male cousin who is Gay. He is 28 years old...We were very, very close growing up, and he has helped me and my mom out alot. When he first told me he was Gay, I told him that I still loved him, and that the Quran says "To you be your way--and to me, mine". I told him that I am Muslim and that we dont accept homosexuality, but that I still loved him.

He got "married" to man last month..He asked me to come to the wedding several times, but I didnt. My whole family went, and they bought him gifts and celebrated...HERE IS THE PROBLEM: He has called me, and I dont answer the phone, because I think he wants to talk about the wedding, and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY. SHOULD I SAY CONGRATULATIONS? WHAT SHOULD I SAY? If I ignore his wedding and the fact that he is "married", his feelings will be hurt...He is a VERY NICE person, and I dont want to be rude.

Ok... could someone please help me straighten some things up for me? Ie. who were these people, and what did they do in the bible?

1. Virgin Mary - I think she's god's mother, but if she's a mother, she must have had sex, making her no longer a vergin.

2. Mother Theresa - Who's mother is she? Is she Mary's mother? God's? Jesus'?

3. Mary Magdolin - Is this Virgin Mary's twin or evil twin or something?

4. Poncious Pirate - Why were there pirates in the bible? Isn't the bible supposed to be good?

5. Joseph - A profit? What did he profit from?

6. Moses - Was he as holy as people say he is?

How do you communicate with it?

Do you talk to it as if it were a normal person or do you talk to it in Crazy Baby Speech?

I talk to my cat, usually as if he were a person, though when he's playful or when I'm buggin him before I pick him up, I slip into crazy baby talk.

Even though I know he's a very clever cat and I love him dearly, I do say that he's stupid (coz he is very very clumsy).
Like,... "are you crazy or stupid, you don't bite the mommy!!"
Stuff like that, I know he doesn't know what stupid is - he just knows that I love him and what ever gibberish I say is just gibberish and also he knows his name is about it.

I'm born again and I believe in God and God's word. What makes some of you southern religious people better than others just because you don't drink wine in moderation or smoke tobacco in moderation? It's absolutely fine if you don't but it's when you become very unaccepting to others that do it. God loves us all. We are not saved by works but the way we believe. So, some of you southern religious people can go load up on the pop and cake and be in a bad mood most of the time. And also make yourself look better for putting down what other people do that is not against the word of God.

Over the past few days my husband, Buddy, took care of a 41 year-old African-American man in the hospital who is in the last stages of AIDS. The man had severe waisting syndrome and was so sick that he refused to take any more meds as they would cause horrid vomiting.

Nobody really wanted to care for this patient as he had been kind of mean, but Buddy seemed to hit it off with him....Before long this man was smiling and telling Buddy his favorite things to do, one of which was to get high and watch Batman....The other was to smoke Kool cigarettes...He just loved those menthol cigarettes.

Buddy felt like he wanted to do something nice for the man, but being that my son was out of weed, Buddy could not get him a joint...The next day Buddy showed up to work with not 1, but 2 packs of Kool cigarettes.

During his shift, Buddy took the time to take the man out in a wheelchair and let him enjoy the gift...The man was in heaven :)

If Christ was like Buddy would you like him?
