I moved to the U.S. 3 yrs ago and I'm a high school student. I have a Nigerian accent, my English is top notch but I talk with an accent and some students laugh and tease me. Its not a good feeling, lol. So in class I try not to talk and I'm self concious around people because of my accent. Can you help me? Plz

Hi Jewish friends. I would like to get the lyrics of Hava Naguila (in Roman characters, not Hebrew characters - sSpelling of Hava Naguila may be wrong to start with :-). Could you please help me?

What is the meaning of it? I understand it's sung in celebrations. I tried looking for it over the Internet but there are too many lyrics, it's confusing.

Years ago I was approached by an Amway representative. He said he had an experience that was so overwhelming that I needed to hear about it. Open minded, I was then taken to a presentation where an Amway leader preached to me and others about this great opportunity all all that it could deliver. Being an intellectual, over the next few weeks I did some research, and found some of the future claims difficult to believe. I was told to have faith in the business because to be successful I needed to have faith, and those who didn't would surely fail.

I also had some concerns because I had friends telling me that mlm and Amway was merely a scheme, and when I went to the leaders in Amway they told me that in life, we will always find negative people who just do not get it and I should be strong enough to not listen to them.

Have faith, those who don't believe are not enlightened. Succeed thru faith. How is the religious leader telling me this differ from the Amway leader?

I have a big scar on the side of my forehead which I have had all my life,I am now 40 and its only in the last 5 years that I have learned not to worry about people staring at it or asking if I was in a fire etc etc.
I now know that what strangers say or think about me does not matter;but wonder why we do worry about people and society and how we are viewed and perceived ?

I am not talking regular marijuana here notice it MEDICAL that we are talking here. Did you know that states that have legalized it, still have consequences learking from the federal government? Even if a doctor prescribes it to a cancer patient which is very seldom, they can lost their jobs for it! Such a shame!!

Ok, I know this is kind of a common thing...or at least I think it is....but anyway, what do you guys think of those little black things you see out of the corner of your eye, or little white figures in the distance that dissapear at a second glance? I see these all the time everywhere! Especially when I was little I did. And I ALWAYS see someone standing in a corner of my house, and then they're gone when I try to get a good look at them, and I hear things in my house at night...and when I'm alone. I mean it's nothing big and it only scares me every now and then because I'm so used to it. But is this normal...or am I different...not crazy?! haha Or do you know what these are, I know what I think they are, but I just wanted to get another's opinion!

I am so sick and tired of people thinking that just because I am a Hispanic, I should automatically speak Spanish!!! I was born and raised in AMERICA. I am an American before I am ANYTHING else. What’s worse is that when my own people find out that I don’t speak Spanish, they look down on me and accuse me of "trying to act white”. I’m so sick of it. It’s not my fault they chose to have children before the age of 18, live off government checks, do drugs, and be ignorant uneducated fools.

Bottom line, just because someone is Hispanic does NOT mean they speak Spanish, nor does it mean they are "trying to be white".

I am so sick of being called a racist because I don't like a$$holes, ignorant, lazy or ill mannered people. I don't like whites that exhibit these character flaws either. I do however respect, intelligence, work ethic, a commitment to family and doing the morally right thing. Why can't I hate someone for being a lousy person regardless of race?

I had some young punk slam the door in my face this morning as I walked into the gas station. I told him that was rude, and he said shut the **** up old man I wanted to smash him in the face with my cane, instead I turned around walked out the door and ran the metal bottom of my cane against his shiny sports car. Whenever I have to talk in front of my class I get very nervous and I start to talk very fast! I can't help it! I try to slow down but that somehow makes me feel as if even more people are watching me and that makes me even more nervous!! Sometimes I will start to shake (especially when I am standing up when talking) and that will make me fidget and move around. Even when I know have have to talk in front of people in the next couple of minutes I already start to get scared. Does anybody have any tips or ideas that could help me out at all?!? Anything is great.

Why can't you understand that they are not crying over the "slavery" that happened 400 years ago ( which is no small matter mind you)? Why do people forget that it was only illegal to stop blacks from voting in 1965? That MLK had his speech in 1964 and Rosa Parks refused to sit at the back in 1956??

Isn't it unfair to expect Blacks to have the same percentage of educated, wealthy and powerful people as other races when they only had rights 40 years ago? People say " well, I wasn't the one that owned them why should I have to pay?"
True, But Blacks still have to pay to this day, and we'll stop whining and b!tching as you say, once you've realized that all those years of discrimination can't be erased like that!

* I just had that said to me today and I'm still boiling sorry, when I watched my own parents being turned away from a restaurent because they had the wrong color skin!*
