Kerry Packer, head of Australia's Nine Network and the country's richest man, died in his sleep here Monday night. He was 68.
No cause of death was reported, but Packer -- who alongside Rupert Murdoch is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Australian media -- had battled a series of illnesses in recent years. He had a kidney transplant in 2001, with a kidney donated by his helicopter pilot. Since 1990 he'd suffered a series of heart attacks -- after one of which, when declared dead for seven minutes, he quipped, "Mate, I've been to the other side, and there's nothing there."
Tony Ritchie, Nine's head of news, announced Packer's death in a statement read on the air Tuesday. "Mrs. Kerry Packer and her children James and Gretel sadly report the passing last evening of her husband and their father Kerry," he said. "He died peacefully at home with his family at his bedside. He will be lovingly remembered and missed enormously. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced."

i was clinically dead. not for long though, hell if i remember. but i 'seen stuff'
i am not sure who said that.. what is nothing by the way?
i felt it was all... whatever that means now.. i said it alot back then.
'all' maybe all is nothing and nothing is everything?
who the hell knows...
it was dream. very nice pertaining to my reality, hard to explain you had to have been there with me.
then i woke up in pain and finally they were giving me pain meds..
and my spouse looked at me like she was about to give me the *** kicking of all eternity.
story has it i flatlined... i went into mineral shock and poof gone.
long story funny.... she says i do it again.. my *** is grass.. i'm like how? lmfao!
made everyone paranoid they look at me all the time now.
i told them it's ok... it's all good.
made me clue in on things. now that's faded a bit but it's made me very non religious and very happy... i know i'm good, i'm doing ok and i won't be alone.
:D
sorry.

Morgan Earp said something like that, addressing your question, in the movie Tombstone...
"Wyatt, remember I told you about the light leading you to heaven? It ain't true, I can't see a damned thing"
Then he died in Wyatt's arms.

I really cannot imagine thinking that there could be another side, yet have there be nothing there. A blank room? A black hole? What exactly would someone see on the other side if there was nothing there to see?
